November 19, 2018- NOthing But Techs

    Razor: NDC Post-War Gold Tech
    Blade: 7 o'Clock Permasharp Stainless (2)
    Brush: 30DC LE/Pure Badger
    Soap: Stirling Sheep
    Post: Alum, Listerine, WH

It's Thanksgiving week and, lads, we've struck gold! For today's shave, I used the first of the three Gold Techs in my den. Ironically, all three date from the same era, post-WWII and pre-1950 (the patent nos are on "PACKAGE" rather than "PKG").
    IMG_0304.jpg
This was the first of the three that I acquired. It's in decent shape with much of the gold plating and even some of the lacquer intact. The cases is one of those $3-$4 "PU Leather" ones that some of the Chinese sellers have on eBay and Aliexpress. It's pretty much the fits the Tech perfectly.

For the shave, I stayed with the 30DC LE brush and the Sheep. I do not have the words to describe this shave. Literally... I mean that, at this point in the month, I've pretty much run out of superlatives. I'm really going to have to unpack more adjectives.

Love the shot this morning, Clint. Very cool reflection in the handle of that shiny razor! Those jade type handles are nice as well.
Love the shave combo, but really love the walnut it is on, Jim. Is that a countertop?
A great start to the day, Jim. Your daughter chose well.

An elegant photo and clear report as usual, Jason. I agree about the Palmolive creams - one of those drugstore products that can hang with most of the artisan offerings.

Best set up of the month so far, Chris! :eatdrink020: :eatdrink023:

Great result, Neal, but that razor worries me a little bit. I'm glad it worked OK for you. TTT. Your Thanksgiving meal sounds perfect to me. Enjoy the big day with some rest and time with your dear Bride.

Terry, you're off and running with your R41 focus. I'm glad you're with us. You should receive the first shipment of cookies today.

Sweet set up and great photo, Clint. Any photo with greenery in it during November gets brownie points. Have a smooth day cooking the books. :)

Great set up, a little Kung Fu, and a resulting BBS. What a great way to start the week, Jim!

Wonderful assist by your daughter, Jim. Please give her a High Five from me. While you're at it, give her $50. She might need a little extra money for Black Friday. Everything about your set up looks great to me. The New LC is a favorite!

Great Stoylin shave, Paul. Have a blessed Thanksgiving, my friend.

And hey, would 'ya buy some shaving goodies this week? ;)

Your posts this month really boost the profile of the Techs and this one is no exception. I have a couple I have never tried. You inspire me to dig them out later this week.

That's a World Class Shave, Jason, er...uh...well...except for the Clubman. You might consider saving your Clubman for the summer when flying insects are at their worst.

Great photo and shave today! Happy Monday!

Whatever you do, don’t fall for the cookie trick, Terry! It starts and ends with disappointment.

That's a sweet little travel set up, John. I really like it. I've enjoyed your Tech focus this month. I've learned a lot and have come to appreciate the history of this razor in the Gillette DE line up.

OK, even our "Blind Squirrel" @clint64 (and our resident "shaves blindfolded" @Terry ) Hint: @Queen of Blades nice CT for @Terry
can "see" that this soap has almost reached its end.
The Rubberset's excellent scrub and backbone loaded at least 4g of soap this morning...;)
Then proceeded to serenely apply said lather to my kisser.

Once again, I chose my 2011 R41, and once again got a great shave with the thrice-used Personna Med Prep.
The Thayer's has reached critical mass and is also not long for this world.
    How satisfying is that???
But then again, as I confessed to Neal, yesterday, my friend Chris from another forum answered my WTB
for an unused Eufros Tobacco soap AND :scared003: had an unopened bottle of the ASB...Oy Weh!
Therefore, I just spent the last 15 minutes rummaging through my backups and am planning a den clearing
sale, full of unobtanium. Stay tuned...
Finished the shave with my Alt Innsbruck and WTH???
    Check this out:

Now, it's cloudy, because I gave it a shake, but you can see the separation.
Smells fine, but this is definitely a first.
Anyone out there experience something similar?

Oh, Randy...go do some CEO stuff and quite messing with @Terry. Play golf, ride in a company jet, dictate a letter to high government officials, reorganize the business, announce an IPO, communicate new company edicts, buy a controlling interest in a business venture...or whatever it is you guys at the top of the pyramid do. If you run out of stuff to do, go buy some shoes and stop wearing those sandals to work. ;)
