    Thank you!

I'm trying for 3 pass face and a 2 pass head shave every day too. I know that seems a little over the top, but I'll see how long I can do that.

I was going to quote your post to compliment you on the photo. Interesting that you are asking about the separation as I was dealing with this myself last night in making my own aftershave. So, vintage aftershave and a lot of the new ones have two primary ingredients - Grain alcohol and fragrance oil. In the same way that oil and water don't mix, alcohol and oil don't mix. It takes an emulsifying agent to get them to do so. In your case, either they didn't use an emulsifying agent, or it has broken down, probably due to time. Regarding my adventure last night, I've discovered four ways of emulsifying that don't work.

Great pic! I'm having Chubby 2 envy.

I missed quoting @jtspartan so will insert Jason here. I'm not selling aftershave yet as I haven't gotten it figured out. I bought some vintage aftershave and liquor bottles and am putting my home brew in them.

Making alcohol based aftershave can be really easy or really hard. The easy way is to purchase a bottle of cheap rum. I use Castillo Silver. You can hardly smell it, so it doesn't get involved with your scent. Good scents are very difficult, so the easy way is to buy scent that has already been formulated. Think of a scent you like, go to Google and search. For example, "Barbershop scent oil". Make sure that what you buy is approved for cosmetics use, which will be in their advertising. Next, mix the two, shake and apply. You can also add a little glycerin, which aids in mixing them when you shake.

The amount of scent oil varies, though 3% is a good starting point. Some scents, like Barbershop, leather, black pepper, etc... are more likely to burn than others.

Now for the hard part. Developing scent is difficult. There are various soaps from different artisans that have the same scent. The reason for that is because folks often leave the scent development to the pro's and buy the scent oil from the same place as other artisans. I don't view this negatively as using professionally blended scent increases the chances of the customer having a good experience as the product ages.

I'm working on developing scents myself, which is where the practice comes in. A blend formulated today might lose all scent in 4-5 months, or worse, it may smell terrible.

I was a weak and have already started on the Black Friday shaving items. I decided to get the Supply Co V2 razor with all three heads. Ordered some Proline blades from @Linuxguile Andrew as well. I have not decided if I will have the girls give me the razor for Christmas or use it before then.

After shaving with the Brass General and the Cobra Classic, I decided to pass on the Vector. I have been curious about the Supply Co. Their Black Friday Sale and generous return policy really pushed me over the edge.

Thank you Bruce. Excellent service from Andrew's shop. He sent a message to make sure I knew I had ordered the injector Proline blades and not the artist club proline blades. I will be ordering from Andrew again in the future.

I always wondered what would happen if someone finished his/her Black Friday shopping and, while walking out, gleefully said to people "Well, that does it....all done with my Christmas shopping!".

I do not go out to the stores Christmas shopping anymore. I just don't like the crowds and the amount of time involved.

If the ladies in the house give me their list before Friday, I fully intend on having my shopping done online Friday. ;)

Jeeves of Hudson Street Bay Rum
    SP→2 Cypress/ VS black badger
    Osaka Suribachi bowl
    Schick Type J-1, Chick blade
Lucky Tiger AS & Face Tonic
SOTD 11192018.gif Pulling from Monty Python I'll roll the credits before the meat of the show.

Soap courtesy of Adam @Drygulch. A huge sample.
Brush & bowl via Jack @Sparrow. Top shelf gear.
Injector from Chris @Bama Samurai. Level enabling.

Let my granddaughter Jenisis choose all but the bowl & razor. I'm not a fan of Bay Rums in general, but Jeeves is a little off the main curve. Surprisingly the LT AS compliments the scents of the soap. Having a helper at my elbow for the choice of gear, she got a lesson in blooming, wetting the knot, and loading soap. I did step in to assist during agitation. Back to her for lather application for all three passes. She commented about the sound of the razor - Velcro ripping. Last bit of lather was hand expressed from the knot and applied by way of small fingers. This being my first injector it's had a few more uses than some others with an easy to find angle of attack. DFS+ in three passes with no errors. The Lucky Tiger doesn't have the viscosity of some AS, but the orange scent and other ingredients give a decent post shave face feel. Especially when applied by enthusiastic face slapping by a 7 year old.
    Good Shaves Y'all!
