I see my inventory of B-20s is quickly diminishing, not a bad problem to have. Thank you gents!

Interesting Pete. I have much older "vintage" scents that have not separated. The Alt Innsbruck is about 4 years old.

    Tonight’s shave

    Razor: milord
    Blade: rapira platinum lux
    Soap: mountain rain by Jeeves
    Brush: Henry cavendish pure badger
    As: myrsol emulsion

Tonight’s shave did not go quite as planned, since I had not realized two of the kids just showered I ran out of hot water at the very end of mine. So I figured I would just do a cold water shave this evening. Turns out cold water and shaving does not go together well for me. I ended up with six weepersand a bleeder. So I guess I’ll just stick with a cold water final rinse. BF894513-0B99-48D3-9E5B-06EA57F5EBC2.jpeg

NOVember is NO whatever you want it to be! Apparently.

    November 19

Razor - 1947 Gillette Super Speed
    Blade - gillette-7-oclock-sharpedge.jpg
    Soap - Stirling Gatlinburg
Brush - Vie Long 12601 The Pony
    Post - Alum

I think the shaving gods knew I"d have a long and difficult night when they drew this setup for me this morning. This is a setup that may get repeated during Decadent December. The '40's Super Speeds are simply fantastic shavers, and the Gillette yellow is one of the best they produce. Add a Stirling soap and a horse brush and you have a shave that I really needed. The scritch of the brush was really nice tonight and that small little brush made three full passes of lather and still had enough in it for at least two more. Awesome performance. The final result was a BBS and it was quite the relaxing and enjoyable process. Sorry GrubHub...those things I was saying about you before the shave? Just kidding. The world is in order now.

It's already Tuesday morning. So have a great rest of the day!

    NCoxSTL AAACK!

Please indulge me for just a moment or two.......the following is a minor announcement from the Cartel that has nothing to do with the Stirling gift card, so hold your britches.

On December 20, 2014, I wandered in the front door here. Things were a bit different then. There was no 30 Day Crew. Well, not quite yet. @Bama Samurai was starting to put the idea together and it would appear in less than two weeks. I had been using traditional razors for about a month at that point. Sucked at it. But was dedicated to keep learning. In fact, I found TSD because I was checking out all the forums. And being disappointed in them all because of either a lack of participation or a "nose in the air" attitude toward newbies. Well, TSD had both lots of participation and also lots of helpful people who answered questions, seemed genuinely friendly and laughed at my stupid jokes. Aha! Success! Some place I can hang out for awhile.

Well, it's been 1431 days. Three years and 11 months. My first post was my intro back on December 20, 2014 and this post.....this very one that you're reading and wondering what in the world my fever dreams are leading us to....this post is number 10,000. Somehow, I've found something to say 10,000 times on here. I can't imagine that a lot of it has any real weight or bearing, but at least I hope it's been entertaining. Or educational. Or at least not boring. I find it difficult to imagine hitting "post reply" 10,000 times. No wonder I'm on my third computer.

However, there's a part of hitting that 10,000 mark that really humbles me and means more to me than just being mouthy ever can. It's the 93,340 "likes" that you all have bestowed upon those 10,000 posts. Well, technically 9,999 since this one isn't posted quite yet, but you get my drift. I'm a numbers guy so I had to do the math. In the past 3 years and 11 months you have liked everything I have posted 65.23 times. That number astounds me. Puzzles me. Humbles me.

Some of you regularly thank me for being the official cat herder and wannabe Czar of this group. Please know that I don't consider this work. Not even close. I consider it a privilege to hang around with a really interesting and fun and, occasionally, somewhat warped group of guys and discuss something we all love. And though I've said it before I want to say it again. And I will say again as well as we continue on this journey. This group works not because I can hit "post reply" 10,000 times but because of the participation that everyone brings to the table. It works because the newbies who show up with bad shaves and the wrong ideas and bad habits and all the other trials and tribulations are helped by guys who were newbies just a few months ago. They were helped by guys who were newbies before them, and they were.....well, you get the idea. I hope that this group continues until I can no longer pick up a razor or hit a "post reply" button and then....when that day comes that I'm just a quivering mass of old man hiding in the corner......it will have another 30 years left in it as all of the new generations keep recreating the friendships and the fellowship that we all have come to enjoy.

Thanks for reading a rather long and somewhat kooky post. I promise I won't bore you again like this for at least, oh, 10,000 more.

Congratulations on 10,000 posts, Neal! And your milestone post is a great one.

Somewhat shocking though to learn that our Fearless Leader who demonstrates how to shave with all sorts of wretched implements has less than four years of shaving experience under his belt... Why, that means that when I joined and you helped teach me, you had been doing it for less than two years yourself! And here I thought I was having the hard-learned lessons of decades of experience imparted to me...

Some great reports and pics to close out Monday or open Tuesday, gents!S

Keith, that certainly is an elegant SR!

And Patrick, I see you have joined the Stirling Camp - along with Neal tonight and probably 3/4 of the 30DC if you check all the den inventories. How do you like the Vanilla Sandalwood scent?
