  1. I haven’t tried Canoe in a very long time so I can’t say. I have Floid Blue and Myrsol F Extra that I consider barbershop scents. I like both of those. However barbershop scents are not something I reach for on a regular basis.

    Baili BT173 (Teck II)
    Lamix Platinum Plus
Satin Tip The Purest (22mm, Corvette Class)
    Stirling Electric Sheep

Late start to the morning. Logan woke up right when I was getting ready to start my shave so I had to abandon that plan. I had a few items kicking around at work for an emergency shave situation so I wasn't doomed to be stubbly all day! Two new item for me this shave. The first was the Lamix Platinum Plus blade (made in Germany) that was sent to me as a free sample. And the second is the Chinese Baili BT173 which is a modern clone of the later Zamac Gillette Tech's. A quick face later with the Stirling Electric Sheep shave stick made an abundant amount of slick, shiny, lather in short order. The Baili Razor is substantially heavier then you typical ball end tech, weighing in at 2.7 ounces. Started the shave, did a couple of strokes, looked at the razor, yep there is a blade in there. Looked at my face, yep the whiskers were gone. There is literally no blade feel with this razor. The blade was plenty sharp and removed the whiskers without any tugging. This combo was so smooth I did three passes and touch ups without even thinking about it. The shave wasn't BBS, but it was a nice DFS . Considering how mild the razor is I have no complaints. To those that are celebrating turkey day tomorrow I hope you have a great day and don't over eat (too much).

    Hump Day!!!

  6. Thank you, Clint!
  7. Thanks Jim!
  8. Great picture! And enjoy the long weekend with the family.
  9. Speaking of non exclusive inner circle summits, has there been any recent attempts at setting up more peace talks between the cartel and the rebels?
  10. Very nice mail call indeed
  11. Excellent write up on this razor, John - as well as all the others! I've enjoyed your Tech Focus this month, and have learned a lot. Of course, retaining info is another thing altogether. ;)
I had no idea that there were so many versions of the Tech out there. Just goes to show that Gillette has always been, and still is, a master of marketing. Make a small tweak and "rebrand" it as a new razor. Not to mention all the ones they've done for the military, overseas markets, etc. Of course, that's not knocking the razor design. It's one that's stood the test of time, and is still the choice of many. Not to mention all the knockoffs that were inspired (or directly copied) by the humble little Tech.
  12. Well you know they say never wake a sleepwalker. Or since she brought bedding was she looking for a nice spot to nap.

  15. I knew that you aren't a Clubman fan. However, your response is hilarious! I'm glad I wasn't drinking anything when I read it, otherwise my laptop would've gotten sprayed.
I fully admit that I'm rather fond of the stuff. Even my bride likes it. Can't get much more "barbershop-y" than good ol' Clubman.
Then there's The Sheep.... Ah yes....The Sheep...:)
  16. Great photo - and lovely brush, Jason! :happy088:

  17. Very good shave pic. And looks like you have a very happy little one too.
  18. I apologize. I fixed my mistake. I was thinking Declan and typed Logan. Trying to do two things at the same time.
