Just a stunning razor -both blade and scales- made by a true craftsman. Congrats, Keith!

I remember that handle when you showed it off after your father made it, Randy. Glad to hear that special handle has a worthy knot in it now. Well done.

My favorite was a package that made it to Denver and instead of going to the Brighton po it went to Boulder. Boulder saw it was wrong so they sent it back to Denver. For some reason Denver thought it belonged in Boulder so they sent it back. It made that trip back and forth daily for over a week. It took a few phone calls to get it out of that infinite loop.

First use of my Secret Santa set, with my 30DC LE boar and the Stahley Live Razor Head on a Windrose handle. Great shave. Really like the scent of the Dapper Doc’s.

Just honed this beautiful duck today, first shave using the MWF was really impressed by both. Very nice slick lather with a great cushion, the duck took off two days growth with ease. Perfectly smooth shave with no weepers or irritation and a great post shave feel.

    November 25 Plans

Here's my R41 (2013) head sitting on a stainless steel Big Bomber Mongoose handle. Loaded with a Feather blade, this beast weighs in at a whopping 5.75 ounces! Since I shaved this afternoon, tomorrow's shave will likely be in the evening. I plan to take my time and really focus while using this razor that I've nicknamed Hoss Cartwright. It's only fitting that I use my 30DC LE brush along with it. More to come. :)

    Razor - 1959 Gillette Superspeed
    Blade - gillette-sputnik.jpg
    Soap - Stirling Barbershop
    Brush - VDH Boar
    Post - Alum

Interesting random choices tonight. A good, solid, basic razor. The '59 Superspeed, Flare Tip, one of the most popular Gillettes over a number of years. It's a fairly mild razor but is absolutely flawless. It could be considered a "poor man's razor", as it was mass produced and very affordable back in the day. The Sputnik, the St. Pete PTFE blade, I often call the "poor man's Voskhod". Actually they're about the same cost but the Sputnik just seems a bit more "common". It typically lasts a shorter number of shaves than the Voskhod but does give good shaves for a few days. The soap? Stirling Barbershop. A very popular scent and the usual fantastic Stirling lather. And the brush? Another common man's item - the VDH Boar. Very down to earth set up that did nothing except produce a very relaxing and nice BBS over three passes leaving the alum quiet and a smile on my face. Who says you have to have fancy gear to get a good shave? Certainly nobody on THIS thread!

Speaking of fancy gear - we are a week away from the start of DECADENT DECEMBER!!! Always a favorite, we encourage everyone to grab their best and most awesome gear and enjoy some truly decadent and wonderful shaves. It doesn't mean you need expensive gear - and my shave tonight proved that! I'd call this shave a decadent one based on feel and enjoyment!

Some great shaves and photos tonight!

Patrick @9nein9 , any idea what's in that Frankensoap?

Charlie @wristwatchb , is that a razor or did you borrow the ceremonial mace from some legislature?

Neal @NCoxSTL , Great "common touch" shave tonight! And just think: you still have the Marvy brush to look forward to!
