Thank you, my friend. You know the Progressive commercials about becoming more like your parents? I feel like I'm starting to take an odd sort of joy in being able to use something more basic. My grandfather was, and my dad is, someone who found something that worked and stuck with it for 50 years. I think that's becoming me.

A repeat performance of yesterday's shave. No AS scent today, as my Bride and I are off to see our sweet kiddos at the hospital. Colds have kept us away from them for the past two Mondays, so it will be a blessing to see them today.

Next up in the hardware rotation- the long handled Black Beauty and my only horse knot. The software combo is my Proraso collection- the green cream and the blue balm. Took the cream to the bowl and while it took a little time, I got a really nice lather out of it. Dialed the BB to 5 as I planned on 3 passes and am quite smooth afterwards. I have a neckline weeper, which happens now and then, but am quite irritated on my neck for the 2nd shave in a row. I might have to dial back going for a 3rd pass on my neck until my face gets used to the soon-to-be-winter colder, dryer air.

I would have to say the blade is the main culprit.

 

When I got my Sharp Stars a year or two ago, the seller threw a tuck of those Lord Platinums in as well. I can’t say I’m a huge fan either- I think your review is spot on.

I never used the one dot when I had John’s razor, as I found the 2 dot mild enough. I probably should have used it as well. For Science.

A few weeks ago, I looked to get some of that TSD Witch Hazel, a milk or two and some M Bomb. I guess the Witch Hazel has alcohol in it, because I was informed it wouldn’t ship to Canada. Do you notice a difference between alcohol or alcohol free witch hazels?
