Great shave James. Many people get better results shaving every other day. It certainly cuts down on irritation from over shaving.

The Grandpa's Barbershop Soap has arrived. Happy camper here :). I think this will be my first experience with clay. This one has Bentonite. One I look forward to ordering next year has Kaeolin(that one, too, is from a Texas company). . Any comments on these features would be welcomed. Thanks.

Bravo, Joseph! I don't like to brag, but I can quote a few lines from the old classics like Caddyshack, Airplane, The Blues Brothers, Stripes, Blazing Saddles, and Forrest Gump. I also memorized the lyrics for Uneasy Rider. Being a lifelong learner, I'm currently studying A Boy Named Sue and Bubba Shot The Jukebox. As I strongly suspected, we both share a love for the arts. :eatdrink047:

The only thing I can quote from ANY of those is "Don't Call Me Surely"(from Airplane). Oh, there's another one from that flick, but I can't print it here!

If you can learn to pick a banjo or play a mandolin your score will go up significantly.

I resemble those remarks. Except for the one about being down to 35 soaps. That seemed remarkably low. Maybe a typo. Or did you say up to? No that’s just crazy talk.

Thanks guys. I appreciate the kind words and encouragement. We had a blast with our sweet kids today. They inspire us, and they absolutely melt our hearts. Our volunteer work has given us a whole new perspective on life.

Paul, we recently met a couple that brings their therapy dog to the hospital. They love sharing their beloved family dog with the kids. Unfortunately, we don't see many therapy dogs while we volunteer. That tells me there's a dire need for more pet therapy volunteers. I hope you decide to give it a try. The kids absolutely love it, and it really lifts their spirits. I guarantee that it will mean a lot to you as well. Just between me and you, Paul, I'm generally not fond of dogs...but there is something really special about the kind and gentle nature of therapy dogs. I may just like those dogs. :)

I won't tell anyone about your finishing two sentences. This is all about the "human/animal bond", what we're talkinabout here. What a wonderful thing that is(IMO). I'm pleased to be a donator to an organization based in Washington State that helps run this sort of thing nationally.

If it was a typo, could he have mistakenly said 3.5 soaps? I wouldn't want Stoylin to send me .5 of a soap(unless I asked for a sample, of course).

    What a Monday!

Well with sick children, very little sleep, work, doctors apointments then rain and snow.... Just how does a guy get cleaned up and ready? Between naps is when you get the 3 S'es? uh yep. So, yes, I got my normal shave in today. A sorta blury kinda 3x2 at 4:30 in the morning. Everey thing went well till the last pass on the old gord when I felt a slight tug, not pinch or stick. I thought ah, nuts! Checking it was a bleeder, but very small, and it stopped by itself. Checking closer it seemed a small pimple decided to show itself, now it's gone. Bye, Bye.
Now concidering the way the night into the next day went, I thought things went rather well. Most would go from the shower straight to the coffee, I thought about it! I gota admit, after a shower, shave then a good hot, strong cup of joe, I felt better. Yes! Ready to take on the world!
No, no, I wasn't THAT ready, but better than I thought I would be.

Thinking about how the whole night went, I was able to shave with the little razor in the condition I was in, with little to no problem.
So thats how its going, rather well, I think.

    The rule still stands:happy088:
Everyone here is taken care of and will get better. :happy088::happy088:
    Life goes on....
    Thanks
    Enjoy

You have more soap than me to work your way through. Not as if it’s a bad problem to have....you simply have more variety. ;)
I’ve actually been focusing on my samples this month (as focused as I get anyway). A few might get the nod for a full tub in the future. Many won’t - not because they aren’t good (or even great). Some just don’t have the wow factor, either in terms of scent or performance. There are some that I do want to try, such as Grooming Dept., Wholly Kaw, etc. I did just add a Noble Otter soap & AS this month. Different soaps/scents are a fun part of the hobby, however I can see how quickly it can snowball on you.
Good luck on your efforts in plowing through your stash!

You are making fantastic progress. The fact that you could shave after that sort of night is amazing.

How many soaps do you have Bruce. I am down to 21 soaps. 3 or 4 of those are over half finished which will help get the count down. I did put several more on the Christmas wish list so maybe by mid next year, I will be down to my goal of 15 soaps.

Honestly, I don’t know. I’ll have to count tomorrow (I’m at work now). All this talk on soap inventory got me curious. If I had to guess....maybe 12? 15? Plus a bunch of samples. So, nowhere even close to many folks in the 30DC.

Did your Supply show up today?

I always kept mine around 15-18 then the number exploded last year.

The Supply did show up today and is on deck for tomorrow.
