Fantastic photo, Clint!! What a beautiful brush as well!
Sounds like you're off to a good start with the Supply. You're absolutely correct about the angle...it's different than a Schick, and there's a very small optimal window - yet it seems to be fairly intuitive.
Congrats on getting a great shave right out of the gate! :happy088:

Nice picture, Randy! On your recommendation, I got a tub of Grooming Dept ordered, and I am looking forward to trying it.

Beautiful photo, Clint! Glad the first outing was a success. I remember the first few strokes with the Supply removing lather but the whiskers were still there. I had a terrible angle. There is a definite sweet spot and it will perform beautifully when you find it and maintain it. I also recall virtually no velcro sound with this razor.

That is one beautiful and decadent setup, Randy. First class all the way. Your private jet is waiting, sir...

Plus, I need to investigate this soap more. If it's the best soap in your den it's certainly worth looking at. Plus, the Coattails moniker is apropos for my profession. I may be the only person in the 30DC, with the exception of @Primotenore, that owns a set of tails as well as two other tuxedos.

I use the @Drygulch rule of thumb. Anything over 1 oz (like Stirling samples) counts as a soap. Anything under that is a sample. Samples don't count in my soap count. I counted up this morning and am proud to say that the three 1 oz soaps I've killed this year have brought me below 100 soaps (if you don't count the ones in my spare cabinet that I don't have room for in the main cabinet... but I plan to PIF, trade, or sell those one day... maybe...). Anyway, point being, thanks to @Drygulch I am I am moving forward and adapting to this new minimalist lifestyle quite well.

    November 27 SOTD:

    Razor: Walbusch Humpback Slant
    Blade: Polsilver
    Brush: Dogwood Handcrafts Aurora
    Lather: Stirling British Leather
    Aftershave: Stirling British Leather
    Additional Care:
    Stirling Unscented PSB

A package from Greece arrived yesterday, and it had this little razor in it. Thanks to @Linuxguile for pointing me to the seller (enabling :signs002:). I had to give it a go this morning, and it went pretty well. Having used the PAA Alpha Ecliptic, which is based on the Walbusch, the angle was fairly easy to find. The two razors definitely shave in a similar fashion, but I think there is a bit more blade feel in this razor. Two passes got me to an easy DFS.

This soap is on its last few shaves, so I should finish it up soon. That is good, as a few Black Friday purchases have a few tubs of soap coming my way. The good news is the North Houston USPS distribution center appears to be doing its part to help me clean out some soaps before the new ones arrive.

I hope everyone has a great day!

Uhm... I forgot that I made a few soap purchases at Grooming Dept and Stirling last week. You know, Black Friday and all that. So, be on the lookout for my upcoming "flotsam and jetsam" sale in the BST.

I had this razor in my cart three times, but never pulled the trigger. Thanks for sharing your experience with it Jim.

If you want to give it a try sometime, let me know. I certainly don't mind loaning out. I can send the Alpha Ecliptic as well, just for comparison.

I forgot about 1oz being a soap and not a sample. I believe the Hendrix Classics & Co. were 1/2oz each. Pete sent me two which were combined in the same container. So Adam @Drygulch if this counts mark me down for another soap completed. Two in one month!

I'm glad to hear that you can be at peace with so few soaps, Randy. :happy097:
