Beautiful razor and brush combo, Joseph. The NEW LC is my favorite DE. Like you, I find it to be super smooth regardless of the blade I use.

I can't remember ever bowl lathering. I face lather exclusively. It just seems easier and quicker, and I feel that it helps prep my face for the shave. I do have a large scuttle (a much larger version of the brush scuttle I frequently use), so maybe I'll try bowl lathering sometime just for fun.

Plenty of blade holders to share, but I'll need to stock up on Chick blades soon.
The grand's are interested. Florida Water on everyone when I use it. When I caught a whiff of my daughters perfume and though she'd gotten into my Blood on Steel AS, we learned about how close it is to her Juicy Juicy perfume. I'm hoping she gets me their men's Dirty English for Christmas.

I look forward to the photo of your new "bedroom in the woods". :). But great health progress, Charlie! I haven't been to the gym in quite a while due to this cold. When I'm set to return, I'll be a serious exerciser, that's a fact.

It's actually not NOS. The clear vinyl to hold the head is actually torn where it joins the body of the case and there was a pack of used blades in there when I got it. That said, it is pretty clean, especially the handle.

I think the reason that you don't see more SOTDs with them is that most people just use the head with a more conventional handle. FWIW, I do recall @NCoxSTL shaving with one of the vending machine Simpson razors and its original travel handle.

    Stirling Mentholated Pre-Shave Soap
    PAL Adjustable
    Vintage Schick Super Stainless
Wild West Brushworks "Invasion" (24mm, Frigate Class)
Stirling Iced Pineapple soap and AS

With all of you breaking out you shiny, new, stainless steel, adjustable injectors I decided to use the original, made in the USA, stainless steel, adjustable injector razor. The PAL Adjustable, loaded up with a vintage Schick Super Stainless blade. The Stirling Iced Pineapple made its usual creamy, slick, shiny, goopy later with a scent that you just cant help but smile at when you open the tub. My newest brush from Wild West whipped up an incredible lather while looking amazing, though the knot feels small so I may end up pulling it and dropping in a 26mm badger knot. The vintage Schick blade was not as sharp as I would have liked. Either modern technology produces a better blade or time was not kind to the edge. After three passes I somewhere in the neighborhood of a DFS. I finished off with a splash of liquid Joy AKA Iced Pineapple AS to keep the face freeze pineappley goodness going. Have a great day my friends!

    Hump Day!!!!

    Wonderful picture and report, Joseph.
I bowl lather, paint the lather on, then scrub it in just to make sure I have good coverage. I will dip my brush if I feel the lather needs fine tuning. So yes, you could say I bowl and face lather.

Yes, Sir. I know you've enjoyed their products so there's no doubt you'll find something new, or stock up on a known thing. Should help carry you through that NB2020?

Starting as a face latherer, later adopting a bowl lifestyle - I'm a hybrid. I like the control of the mix I get in a bowl. Generally I prefer a little scrub from my brushes so I work my lather on my face, too.

Last month I Ruled on face lathering with one badger brush and a variety of soaps. With repetition I'd get there, but in a bowl it happens every time - the best lather each soap can make. Part of that may be my evening shaves with no time limits. If I was racing the clock in the AM it wouldn't be as much fun.

Great shave and great progress with your personal health goals. Charlie!
    Excellent shot, Jason!
Fantastic photo, Joseph! I almost exclusivity bowl lather. I like that I can have the same lather consistency and coverage throughout my shave. I do tend to work the lather in a bit for the first pass though.
    Thank you, Paul!
    Thanks Jim!

Great photo and report, Joseph. I mostly bowl lathered but lately have face lathered more. Like Andrew (and Rick @RyX) I think I get better lather consistency in a bowl. I am also like Andrew though in that when I bowl lather I tend to work the lather into my face a bit on the first pass anyway. I think that helps raise the whiskers to get a better shave. Later passes tend to be just painted on with either lathering method.
