Thanks Charlie......it's reached the respiratory-issue phase at this point. My Mom always said we never get the same cold symptoms twice in our lives. This one's different, that's for sure.

The 'Red' sounds like a winner, Rick. It is the one of the original '4' I haven't tried.
Great combo, Perry! Glad to hear the splashes are a quality product as well.
Love, love, love that beehive, Clint!
The green is a quality product, no doubt, Jim.
    Awesome photo, Jim!
    Rocket, Nacet, Tuxedo...great combo, Gary.
I'd agree with you in general about tallow soaps, Charlie. However, there are 2 vegan soaps I get a comparible lather from- The aforementioned SC as well as Saponificio Varesino.
Awesome news from the doc, Charlie! Your hard work and dedication is paying off!
Agreed, Joseph. I do both- bowl lather and face lather. Not ever together, though. I think that would be redundant.
Awesome hump day pic again, Andrew!

Thank you, Gentlemen. I have enjoyed laying out the month's combos in advance. I've never done that before and think I'll make it a November thing again.

    PAL Adjustable on mid-range / (?/?)
    Simpsons CH2 Chubby Synthetic Bristles
Soapy Bathman Cup of Joe soap
Alum and Soapy Bathman Cup of Joe balm mentholated

    IMG_20181128_120928.jpg

I think I last used the PAL in September and I no longer remember what blade is in it or how many times it's been used. Probably a vintage Schick with two or three shaves on it. It was still sharp and smooth today anyway. Two passes left me with a DFS not as good as my normal one. I was sloppy and later noticed I missed a couple spots. Alum was silent, however, so I didn't mess up on technique at least.

The Soapy Bathman set provided a good shave performance and great postshave skin conditioning. This balm has menthol in it but is not as strong as the Osage Rub for example. Just a pleasant cool down for a quarter hour or so after use. I might consider buying these products again in future - if they're still available a decade from now when these ones get used up...

Edit: I just went and looked up my September shaves. Today's blade was a vintage Schick Super Chromium ... and this was shave number fourteen on it. Perhaps I didn't miss those spots but the blade just didn't cut them? Anyway, I think the next time I use the PAL it should have a new blade in it...

Yes, I noticed your shave earlier, looked at my sheet with my shaves plotted out to month end and thought exactly that.

Great report and shave photo today, btw. And the other photo was great as usual. He is sure growing fast!

Nice pic, John. I'd like to get a coffee scented soap eventually. I think I have one or two that have coffee listed in the scent description but I don't smell it.

    Thanks, Jim.

I have four coffee scented soaps: S.B. Cup of Joe, Reef Point Espresso, Stirling Vanilla Bean Espresso, and a Finnish one called Uula. The Finnish one I got in a lot from a European shaver on a BST; I don't think it's available in North America otherwise. Also, it's a vegan soap using coconut oil iirc. It's pretty good, but the other three are tallow, which I prefer. Reef Point has gone out of business now. That leaves the Soapy Bathman and Stirling soaps. SB has the stronger coffee scent - it's almost like a cup of coffee grounds in your face. I think Stirling is the better shaving soap with that slick Stirling lather (although SB makes an excellent product too) and the scent is a pleasant mild coffee mixed with the vanilla.

I think if I was starting over and just wanted one coffee soap, the Stirling Vanilla Bean Espresso is the one I would get. Although if Stirling re-releases its Iced Coffee, Neal @NCoxSTL and others really sing that one's praises too...

Century of Tech Shaves - Shave #6
Razor: English Flat Bottom Tech w/ Fat Handle
    Blade: Astra SP (2)
    Brush: Cheapo Boar (Bluebeard Doubloon)
    Soap: TOBS Peppermint
    Post: Nivea Sensitive

I've set myself the challenge of shaving with my Gillette Tech for 100 consecutive shaves. This is something that I wanted to do earlier in the year, but at that point I wasn't getting very good results with the razor. Since coming back to my EFBT, I have been getting the best shaves of my short wet shaving 'career'. I will be using Astra SP blades for the duration.

This shave was another excellent shave. However, I did chase the baby a little too much and earned myself some weepers!

    Enjoy your shaves gents!

I bowl lather exclusively, and it is for one simple reason. I believe that by avoiding the scrubbing/exfoliating of my neck, I reduce the amount of ingrown hairs and irritation. Whipping up a good lather and just 'painting' it onto my face in a nice even fashion gets me great results! :)
