Your Tech focus this month was a great read. When someone says "DE razor", chances are, a Tech is the iconic razor model that first springs into most people's minds even if they are not wetshavers themselves. The two razors in my parents' medicine cabinet, for example, were not TTOs or Fatboys but Techs. The number of variations that exist when you really start to drill down and look at the Tech is quite fascinating. It is almost a microcosm of the history of 20th century mass consumer manufacturing -- war changes, creeping use of plastic and all.

My doctor up here never even bothers to take BMI measurements, because he thinks they are total garbage. He does get bloodwork done every time though, and obsesses over cholesterol levels, blood pressure, need for more exercise and healthier diet, etc. I suspect he will be really happy at my next physical, if I stay on the track I am on now...

Some fantastic shave reports, photos and month end recaps today, gentlemen!

Clint @clint64, I really like those calendar photo recaps you do each month. Jason @jtspartan, impressive spreadsheet! I ended up writing all my shaves down too so I could keep track of what I used, but mine is scribbled in ink on a sheet of foolscap...

Friday noon November 30 - last day of the No Repeat, maybe

    Gillette UK Knack/Slim Twist coded P1 (1970) / vintage Wilkinson Sword (2)
    30DC LE maple cashmere brush
    KMF Lavender Shea cream
    Osage Rub and Clubman VIBR

    IMG_20181130_134612.jpg

KMF Lavender Shea is a product that doesn't get the praise it deserves on the forums. It's not a glamorous artisan offering but it definitely works. A squirt of cream on my brush turned into all the creamy lather I needed. Postshave feeling is pretty decent too. Not bad for a drugstore cream.

The Knack or Slim Twist (one name in the UK and the other in the US) was probably Gillette's reply to the Schick Krona - a TTO head on a long light plastic handle. It turns out it gives a pleasant, mild but efficient shave. The angle of use is much like any Gillette TTO, and the shave was easy. Two passes to an error-free DFS. I skipped the alum today and went straight to the splashes.

I did this entire month without repeating razors, soaps or splashes. My brushes were each used two or three times. I found I could go another month at least without repeating razors, and more like two before the soaps and creams start running out. Is my Den getting too large? Or do I just need to concentrate on getting more brushes to match?

    Great pic and report, John!
I couldn't go two weeks without repeating razors or brushes so I don't have the street cred to answer your question.

The Blackland Sabre I ordered made it to Denver today, so hopefully I'll have it for Sunday mornings shave.
In today's mail, all the way from Canada, a brush I'll call the Jason Creation. It's a beauty! I'll pair it with the Sabre Sunday.
Thank you, Jason! Very generous of you! [IMG]

The National Institute of Health height and weight chart is pretty restrictive. I'm 6' tall, and it says that I should ideally weight between 140 and 177 lbs. The next category is overweight, which ranges from 184 to 213 lbs. I'm targeting 205 lbs. per my doctor's instructions. I need to work on my upper body strength (my legs are fairly muscular due to hauling a lot of weight around), and I hope to see myself becoming leaner (and possibly weighing less) over time.
