Prep: Cold water and Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap
    Blade: Personna
    Razor: Schick B1 repeater
Brush: Ever Ready 100T restored badger
    Soap: Stirling Ozark Mountain
Post: Witch hazel, Stirling Ozark Mountain aftershave

Evening shave after a day of football and adult beverages. No purchases, though, as I bought plenty on Black Friday and early this week. Speaking of Black Friday purchases, the Ozark Mountain set was part of that. Wonderful pine/woods scent with some other elements that I can't detect. I've always thought it smelled like Christmas as has SWMBO, so I went with the full set this year instead of the sample I've had the past couple of years.

Smooth and comfortable shave all around. A couple of weepers right under my chin, so maybe too much pressure or a bad angle there, but overall a really nice shave.

Congratulations to the Alabama Crimson Tide on a tremendous win tonight in the SEC Championship. What a game! Quite entertaining.

Hope you all have a great evening!

I have never used the "Original" Palmolive but the tube on the sensitive states "Sensitive with Aloe Vera". Seems to do a good job for me.

Charlie, you haven't taken it for a shave? I'm guessing either you also have a Futur, or...

Good play Adam. Some of these younger guys might not know the reference and I got the song in my head so I thought I'd share.
This video is sold old it's in 4:3 ratio.

I've got a cantaloupe sized hunk of red flint that would serve. Haven't ever tried knocking of a chip. Plenty of time to learn before MAYhem rolls around.

I looked at your photos - the adjustments are off. Spin em around to 9 and drop in a feather!
Take your time, ride the cap, less pressure = TTT.

Thanks, Jason. Alphabetical gave me a starting point and hopefully make it easier to keep track of what has and hasn't been used. If I can remember what I used yesterday I can figure out what to use tomorrow.

When does MAYhem roll around? Is that May? Sounds like fun.

They stay at 1 when they are resting. If I dial them up to 9 and throw in a Feather it probably will be MAYhem.:angry021:

    SOTD 12012018.gif Never got around to announcing my intentions for this month. Still a little fuzzy (Not you @wchnu) but it'll revolve around getting the most from my favorite soap and AS combos. When Chris @Bama Samurai smuggled this puck of soap home from a trip to Great Britan I was not yet a fan of sandalwood. Hard milled soap? Those are great and this one a perfect fit for an Ikea Grundtal dish. Gave the Omega Pro knot a short soak in cool water and loaded. Then I loaded some more. Thinking I'll Focus this soap for a couple shave to get it softened up as I never really felt like the lather came together. Certainly slick but not as creamy as I recall. Thought I had a tuck of Feather blades but all I found was Kai so it served to make three passes plus a little too much touch up under my jaw. When I splashed the Pinaud on there was more than plenty of that alcohol burn. At first I was set on Proraso Red AS, but the T&H describes it as;

Soft base notes of sandalwood, tonka and cedarwood, middle accords of lavender, thyme and jasmin, pineapple and melon. Top notes of lemon and bergamot give a perfect finishing touch.

It's quite a bit sweeter than the straight up Proraso Red. The Pinaud complimented well with tobacco Leaf, bergamot, & whiskey.
Only the first shave of the last month so there's plenty of time for technique improvement.
    Good Shaves Y'all!

    Decadent December!!

    Razor - 1960 (F4) Gillette Toggle (9)
    Blade - sharp-star.jpg (1)
Soap - Stirling small stupid sheep.jpg
    Brush - The Canuck
    Post - Alum

Well here we go. The final month of 2018, DECADENT DECEMBER!! How to start. Hmmmmmm. Well, I picked a setup that features what I consider the best products on the shelf for performance or feel, or just coolness. It's easy to pick my most decadent brushes. They are all of my custom/hand made ones. As for the razor - the Toggle has to go first. Its relative rarity and coolness factor rules the roost. The blade? Honestly - who would have expected Voskhod here? A year or two ago and you'd have been correct! Sharp Star now occupies the top spot in my den. Not by much, but by enough. The soap? This one was a tough choice. The Sheep (or one of its mutton tallow Stirling cousins) or Mitchell's Wool Fat? The Sheep by a nose. I love MWF as well with its lanolin, but having the mutton tallow as the base for the soap just creates the next level slickness and cushion. Which custom brush to pick? Let's go with the Canuck. The AP Shaveco SynBad knot is excellent.

Three passes of sheepy glory. Enough lather left over to wash a sheep or two. Incredibly smooth and effective shave that didn't open the cut from two nights ago which is a huge plus. The baby is in the house. What a way to start. Decadence is underrated. Have a great Sunday everyone!

Good to know your name Danny @Hembree. I'm Rick. Don't let the MOD tag faze you. Think of me as an electronic janitor keeping the hallways of TSD shiny and clean.
You are correct Sir! As always themes are optional. You might start collecting you popscicle sticks and get your stapler loaded.
That's how I got to nine on mine. Plateaued at five for a long time. Then I tried seven. Now it's all nine all the time.

Great shave and pic Jason. The paintbrush knot is breaking in well. Who knew that would be a success? Certainly I didn't.

Hey thanks Danny, I just ramped the Rockwell up to 5 tonight and you upped the ante I see.

Love that razor , name reminds me of a gun.

Mmmm sandalwood, tobacco and whiskey. I'd call that a winner Rick.

Technically, the popsicle stick shave is held on Cinco de Julio. MAYhem is much more wide open and ridiculous than that, if there is such a thing more ridiculous than shaving with a blade stapled to popsicle sticks.

    Dec 2 shave

It is a short post as I’m at the airport ready to start my vacation.

A big 8+/8 Mike Martinez and Knize ten soap with my 2 band Thäter. Soap smells great but performance is so-so.

For the next 8 days I’ll be using my Parker shavette and ATT R2. The decadent part is I will be shaving in Macau and Phuket.
