Interesting, Gary. I have what I think is the same razor. When I got it in an antique store in Alberta, I thought it was a Rocket. Then, after a little research, I was sure it was an Aristocrat Jr. Now you think it is something different?

Very nice shave. I am a fan of Palmolive soaps and creams, but I haven’t seen that Sensitive cream before. What makes it different from the Classic?

Another two pass + cleanup shave with the Wolfman WR1-DC (OC .74, SB .64). Paladin Moe whipped up a superior lather of delicious Iced Pineapple. Chilled down with MITA Witch Hazel and moisturized with Gold Bond Green lotion. I am smooth and refreshed this morning. I hope everyone has a great shave and a wonderful day!

Post: Witch hazel, Stirling Ozark Mountain aftershave

Evening shave after a day of football and adult beverages. No purchases, though, as I bought plenty on Black Friday and early this week. Speaking of Black Friday purchases, the Ozark Mountain set was part of that. Wonderful pine/woods scent with some other elements that I can't detect. I've always thought it smelled like Christmas as has SWMBO, so I went with the full set this year instead of the sample I've had the past couple of years.

Smooth and comfortable shave all around. A couple of weepers right under my chin, so maybe too much pressure or a bad angle there, but overall a really nice shave.

Congratulations to the Alabama Crimson Tide on a tremendous win tonight in the SEC Championship. What a game! Quite entertaining.

View attachment 180172 Never got around to announcing my intentions for this month. Still a little fuzzy (Not you @wchnu) but it'll revolve around getting the most from my favorite soap and AS combos. When Chris @Bama Samurai smuggled this puck of soap home from a trip to Great Britan I was not yet a fan of sandalwood. Hard milled soap? Those are great and this one a perfect fit for an Ikea Grundtal dish. Gave the Omega Pro knot a short soak in cool water and loaded. Then I loaded some more. Thinking I'll Focus this soap for a couple shave to get it softened up as I never really felt like the lather came together. Certainly slick but not as creamy as I recall. Thought I had a tuck of Feather blades but all I found was Kai so it served to make three passes plus a little too much touch up under my jaw. When I splashed the Pinaud on there was more than plenty of that alcohol burn. At first I was set on Proraso Red AS, but the T&H describes it as;

Soft base notes of sandalwood, tonka and cedarwood, middle accords of lavender, thyme and jasmin, pineapple and melon. Top notes of lemon and bergamot give a perfect finishing touch.

It's quite a bit sweeter than the straight up Proraso Red. The Pinaud complimented well with tobacco Leaf, bergamot, & whiskey.
Only the first shave of the last month so there's plenty of time for technique improvement.

After watching Manchester United's dismal showing against lowly Southampton (and consuming numerous alcoholic beverages), I decided to cheer myself up with a nice shave! An uneventful 2.5 passes (as per usual) led to a fantastic shave! The Ever Ready brush whipped up a serious amount of lather in the bowl (way more than needed - but it's DECember)! I suffered no rash/irritation on my neck, which might suggest that I am not in fact allergic to the almond oil in the TOBS! This a real bonus for me... £10 per tub isn't something I'd relish throwing away! Ditched the blade after the shave, cleaned up the razor and put a new one in ready for the next one! I'm not 100% sure that the blade had run its course, I just want to be safe on that front for now.

I have had my interest piqued by the Gillette Nacet blades, and given their price point and reputation will be trying them after 50 shaves on the Astra SP. I do not have enough Astras to get me to the 100 shave mark (at a rate of 3 blades per shave) - I only have another 22 in stock! I think 50 shaves on each blade should give me an idea of which blade will be my long term favourite. I am not really interested in trying dozens of different blade types, and I am certainly not going to pay >£10 per 100 shipped.

A big 8+/8 Mike Martinez and Knize ten soap with my 2 band Thäter. Soap smells great but performance is so-so.

Pre-shave: Stirling Mentholated
Soap: B&M Bay Rum
Stirling Bay Rum witch hazel
AS: B&M Bay Rum

Good morning!

The alphabet has paired B&M with Blackland for this morning's shave and the next few morning's as well. I'll be using the 30DCLE V1.* for the first time, such a beautiful brush! Another first is a Gem razor, the Blackland Sabre.

Love the ergonomics of my new brush! Thank you again, Jason @jtspartan .

First couple of strokes with the Sabre weren't very smooth and produced a weeper. Seems I'm not the master of the feather light touch I thought I was. Lightened up even more, not even letting the weight of the razor do its work. Smooth sailing for the rest of the shave. Three passes and I'm dolphin smooth. A little warmth from the alum. All said and done a very nice first shave with this razor.

Hehe! The GEM blades are cool aren't they?! I remember my first strokes with a 1912... I clearly pressed on - got myself about 4 weepers in one stroke. A light touch will reward you with great shaves! Congratulations on your purchase and on a great first shave
