Slow the bullet down, put a lights and a horn in it and you will hit them every time!
Yes, I have spoken to Andrew. I sent him a pm across the street. I will use this razor until the blade gives out, then I will order more. I have 2 other injectors that I can use, in the meantime until the ordered blades arrive.
I am a fair hand and DE razors, pretty good on SE razors, but the injectors are a new rodeo for me. I am learning, however, the focused for me this month is getting a"decadent" lather. That's my goal to build my lathering skills. I may change razors, blades and soaps, but I will use the same soap until I get it right, however many days that takes.

Thanks again for the warm welcome, as this is the first 30day crew I have participated in.

Ok, so here we go again with this experiment . Plate 6 tonight on the Rockwell and well....by golly it left me smoother than a ___________. ( insert your own answer)
Jumped from 4 to 5 with little noticeable change but 6 is the game changer. With other blades I've used plate 4 seemed to be the magic number . Now I may have to backtrack and try all past blade choices with the 6.
Danny@Hembree got this ball rolling with his mention of knotching up the Rockwell for his shaves and I just had to see for myself.
Was this shave decadent? I'd be a liar if I said it wasn't.
Stay tuned for tomorrow's search for decadence with same set up and trying all past blades I've used on plate 4.
    Isn't shaving fun and educational?

I'm wondering if maybe I just settled in and got used to number 4. Even the cheap Chinese blades shaved well on 4. Thanks for opening my eyes on this razor. Now the curiosity is getting to me as to whether it's the razor or blades ..

Hope your wife is doing ok John. Wishing her a speedy recovery!

:happy102:...I imagine we've all been guilty of this at some point around girls.

I tried to shave daily during my Mach 3 days when I was constantly client facing for work...but everytime I tried it my face burned so much I gave up and only do it every other day. I may try it again with DE shaving but I do wonder how long it would take for your skin to get used to it?

I'm glad your Mom is doing well Perry! Glad it wasn't a heart attack! Hope she's pain-free and fully recovered soon!

That is good question for which I do not know the answer. I have not tried a lot, only four......Feather, Voskhod, Astra and Nacets. The Nacets give me few weepers on plate 5. Something I had never experienced with the Rockwell . The Voskhods feel slightly smother. I am going to stick with the Voskhods all this month and work on my technique. I may swap out the handle for classic or bulldog Weber and see how that goes.

    Shave # 1 in December

    Razor
    : Merkur 23C
    Blade: Ying Jili
Preshave: Neutrogena Skin clearing Shave cream
    Lather
    : Arko Shave stick
    Brush: Boar
Postshave: Pacific Shaving Company Caffeinated aftershave

    IMG_20181202_135459v2.jpg

I decided to revive the first blade I've ever used when I took up DE shaving just 4 months back. At the time I had multiple weepers every time I used the Ying Jili blade that came with my Weishi razor. After all the advice and help from the members of the 30DC crew and some others on another forum I thought I'd go back and see if my improved skills would give me a better shave now with the Ying Jili blade. It ended up being a great shave. Just one small cut which closed really quick. The blade felt great and I got somewhere between a BBS and DFS shave. It's true, When your skills improve almost any blade will give you a great shave. :happy088:

As far as the decadant piece of this...Now that my skills are at least to the point where I don't automatically get weepers when I look at a DE Blade :p...every shave feels decadent due to the prep and attention I put into it. Unlike my cartridge days...I look forward to the experience. I must admit I'm getting some amazing lather from Arko now that I'm adding enough water. Another thing I did was to mix some jojoba oil in with Arko and that seems to help with the dryness factor.

Well it wasn’t in the poll, but my idea of decadence in December is a nice warm scuttle. I’ll have to break them out. There’s nothing like a hot and foamy shave.

Yes, stick to the Voskhods and build that technique. You will need it come May!
