Darn you, Jim! I've had my finger perched on the mouse a few times looking at this soap, but haven't made the "click" sound yet. Now I'm thinking about it again.
Incredible photo and setup!! Good luck with the new boss. I hope they don't shake things up too badly.

Thank you, Bruce! I was the same way, and honestly, it is tough to order from Grooming Dept, as they are always out if stock. I hope this improves a bit, as I dont typically like to wait out all this stuff all the time.

I really wanted to shave with this razor today:

However, it seems that Danny @Hembree is being tempted by these gorgeous pieces of brass. Because I’m a nice guy, I didn’t shave with that delightful razor. Nope. I don’t want him to think that we’re just a bunch of enablers in here. :innocent

    Instead, I went this route:

    Supply
    Schick Proline
    Tabac
    APS SynBad
    CL Unconditional Surrender

The usual slick, protective lather that Tabac offers. Two passes and a little touch up. Generous splash of refined stink. Good to go!

Even shaving faster than normal today, there was zero drama. And the end results show that two passes were plenty.

I hope everyone has a great Tuesday!

Super Duper Mega Shavette-FU post heading your way!

Great shot, Rick. Im attempting to do the daily shaving thing too, for me it is more a matter of making the time.
    Thank you, Charlie!
Way to get it back on track, Terry!
    Thank you, Jim!
I'm cross posting this here Aaron, this is how you achieve the best possible lather with any soap!

    Enjoy, Keith!
John, it was awesome that you gave the Rolls a shot! The hone on the Rolls is so slow and the blade is so hard that the hone is really only good for maintaining an already shave ready blade. If you want to get in to shave ready condition you will need to get the blade honed. If you don't mind an amateur honing the blade for you, I would be willing to do it for you.
Thanks Nirav! In all honestly I don't really notice a difference because I use all of my razors like a slant. I use an oblique stroke(AKA Gillette slide and guillotine stroke) with my non-slant razors. I find this very helpful to slice the whiskers rather plow through and pop them. With the oblique stroke you hold the head of the razor slightly off parallel while making a straight stroke. Hopefully this info-graphic will explain it a little better:

John, What you have there is a Grand Shave King Self Lubricating Razor, it was the inspiration for all modern dual open comb razors. Sorry to hear about Pete, It is one of the biggest responsibilities of a pet owner to know when that hard decision must be made and you absolutely did the right thing.
First class, Neal! And chicks dig scars!
Excellent shave, Patrick! When you can use a lesser blade and still get a great shave, you have arrived.
Fantastic shot Perry! I got the same chocolate milk colored lather out of Vanilla Sandalwood. At least you know you can always count on the performance of Stirling!
    Shine baby shine!!!
Excellent shot, Jim! I hope all goes well with the new boss! I'd love to see an unfiltered shot of that brush too!
Beautiful shot and great shave, Clint!
Very nice, Mark! How do you rank the aggressiveness of the Dart?
    Nice setup, Danny!
    Great shave, Charlie!
Fantastic shot, Joseph! I really love that Stirling Glacial Unscented Balm! Congrats on the win!

Was out of the house very early this morning for a meeting, but I did get up quite early to make sure I had time to enjoy this shave fully. I have decided to stick with my favourite Gillette OC for the next few days. I've only used this brush 3 or 4 times now, but it has definitely reached favourite/decadent status already. I face lathered this awesome soap and easily had enough lather for 3 smooth passes. Love the scent and the performance of this lather, there are none better in my den. Others are just as good, but none better. I heard word the soap company was going under a year ago, so I bought an extra tub of this soap. It turns out they didn't fold, but rather sold to someone else. The new owners changed the labeling and the name of the company (First Canadian Shave instead of FC Shave Soap Co) and dropped the Cuba reference in the name of this soap, but still offer the Maximo Gomez. I have no idea whether it is the exact same formula or just the same scent. I'll email them someday to find out, I suppose.
Finishing with the awesome Tobacco Bay Leaf was just the icing on the cake. Awesome shave.
    Have a great day all!
