I had to type that sentence out VERY VERY carefully a couple of times to make that it was forum safe....
That sentence was LOADED with possible jokes that wrote themselves.... it was too easy..... but I just couldnt do it!

Tomorrow, I will use all my new skills and try for the HOLY GRAIL of shaving. I will be using the new forumlation of Williams!!! If I can lather that stuff, then I should be on fire.
But seriously guys, anyone have any preferences to a decent badger brush? I dont need top of the line, and I already have bottom of the barrel, so something mid range, that is good for the harder soaps? I know I can use my el cheapo for the creams, just need something for the hard stuff, so all you enablers, shoot! Im all ears!

I'm thinking you'll be the entertainment chairman for the next meetup. I expect lobster and crab on the riverfront under the arch as a minimum. Ok, so the view isn't exactly the same but it's a big body of water.

    Decadent December!!

    Razor - '46-'47 Gillette Aristrocrat
    Blade - voskhod-teflon-coated.jpg (1)
    Soap - Stirling Iced Pineapple
    Brush - 30DC LE
    Post - Alum

Sixteen pages since last night? Sixteen?! That's ok, not complaining, just need to write down the page this one is on so I don't have to hunt so hard to find it to copy the intro. LOL Great discussions and shenanigans on here today guys. Man I love this place.

Time to grab a different Decadent razor and it has to be the Aristocrat. This was the second vintage Gillette I ever bought and I got it from a guy here in the Lou who was on a different forum I joined before finding this one. I had no clue what it was but it looked good in the pictures he sent and it was cheaper than I could get one on ebay when I looked. I've never regretted it. Great condition and one of the best Gillette ever made. I paired it with the Voskhod. Yeah, you knew that blade was showing up soon when it's decadent at my house. For the lather - the 30DC limited edition brush with tuxedo knot and Iced Pineapple. I made way too much lather just because I love it so much. True decadence.

Two passes, touch ups, baby is in the house and that's the way to end a day in fine style! Wednesday's up next - hope you're all having a great week!

I have a Maggards Razors 24mm two-band badger knot installed in a handle that Jason @jtspartan made. Very nice brush. Maggards sells a complete 24mm two-band badger brush with a resin handle for $30, which I expect is equally good. Or a 22mm two-band badger in an aluminum handle for $25. Another possibility is the knots / brushes by Envy Shave. I have an Alluminati with their Envy White knot that is a great brush, although it costs a little more but still nowhere near the top end costs.

Take a look at Stirling Soap Company ‘s offerings. They have several finest badger brushes in the $30 range. Of course they won’t be as soft and luxurious as a silvertip, but they won’t break the bank either.

AWESOME!!! and right in time for Christmas. I really dont need another brush, but then again, if I was just in this for the needs, yall would get tired of watching my shave videos, right? I will check those out, thank you for the recommendation. Plus, If I dont like them, im not out a ton of money, and I can pif them if I decide to.

Ok, I will take a look at them. I know if it has Stirling on it, they will stand behind the product, and dont put their name on something just for marketing purposes. Thanks for the recommendation.

Usual suspects in the lineup tonight, except for the Silver blues. Here's the rundown....shave was no better than last night with the Chinese Shaverboy, At first I thought I forgot to change blades. As it stands the R apira is still ahead in the Rockwell on #6 . Used the Silver blues in a 30 day focus with a shavette and thought they were ok until I tried the Gillette 7oclock blacks....which will be tomorrow night's blade. Only other blade I remember using in Rockwell was a Rockwell blade which I have 100 unopened on the shelf and probably won't crack open .
    * On a sidenote, Fathers brush is sure coming into its own as the paintbrush bristle knot is getting some miles on it. Maybe I'll get the boys @ Triple9 industries to tool up the shop and see if we can clone that knot*
Have a great evening/ day everyone.

I remember hearing about this brush and wondered how it would fare. I am glad to see that it is working out for you. I would be interseted in the life span, and if it gets softer just like the boars do once they are broken in.

I was staring at Natalias pic then I seen this pic. Wow is all I can say. What's your thoughts on the pineapple soap? Mild or heavy scent?

It comparable to my omega boar. Took awhile for it to break in but now I hope it lasts forever. Hence the reason I went for long bristles, if it works out then should last for a long time.
