Still not getting the rich thick lather I'd prefer. The obvious answer is load more product and don't worry about leftovers. Serviceable lather none the less with the scent coming out more than when I pulled it from the cabinet several days ago. Lowered the aggression on the #195 for the first time in more than a year. Took my time with correct angle, less pressure, no clean up on WTG & XTG passes. I know where I'd like to over shave - lower neck & right under my jaw line. I'll pay more attention tomorrow! Aftershave either didn't burn as much or I'm getting used to it. No reason to drop back to every other day.

first use of my mint 46-7 aristocrat, nacet blade, and jayaruh #282 zebrawood 2 band badger..
ariana and evans grecian soap is awesome stuff, and delivered an intoxicating creamy slick lather..awesome 2 pass combination dfs+, no drama.
nice smooth razor,a pleasure to use,but will only use once in a while.maybe..
grecian horse aftershave lotion to finish.. fantastic face feel and grand scent..

Grand King Self Lubricating Razor / vintage Wilkinson Sword (7)
APShaveCo Flat Top brush
Simpsons Peppermint & Rosemary cream
Alum and TSD Vanilla milk aftershave

Same setup as yesterday and the day before with just a different scent of shaving cream. I took a fingertip dab of shaving cream again, streaked it on my cheek, and then lathered it with the synthetic brush. This method works very well and provides me with enough lather in the brush for at least two passes. The combination scent is primarily peppermint like a candy cane with a pleasant earthy herbal undertone. And the peppermint also acts much like menthol does and has a very mild cooling tingling effect.

Today's shave has firmly cemented my opinion that this is an outstanding mild razor with high efficiency and a loud "scraping toast" sound as if mows down stubble but virtually no blade feel. Two passes left me on the cusp of BBS with zero feedback from the alum. I used a postshave product only because of our current cold dry air.

I think the blade is good for a few more shaves in this razor, so I will use the same combo (and the same brush again) as I run through my last two flavours of Simpsons shaving cream:

Razor: eBarbershop Type O clone
Brush: Surrey restored badger
Soap: Stirling Black Pepper Lime
Post: Witch hazel, Stirling Black Pepper Lime aftershave

Nice and easy shave with this combination. The scent of the Black Pepper Lime is fairly light. You get the lime element but the black pepper scent is a little nebulous to me. But, I will certainly say that my scent vocabulary is equivalent to the Crayola 16 pack, perhaps with a few missing. My CT proves I ain't all there! Regardless, nice shave in the end.

@NCoxSTL - If you see anyone using the Haverford scent from the Stirling Black Friday release then it's the same scent as the Fair Debonaire soap that you got from Rod at the recent event you attended. I saw that on the website when ordering. I remember you have that soap. Tobacco and vanilla scent.

I think there is a cartel conspiracy in the works to snatch up the razors that are on my list, and to that end all the vintage Williams and Colgate soaps, you gotta keep your eye out for the Cartel, never know when it will strike!

Shave number two on this decadent setup. The Aristocrat and Voskhod - always a great combination since I first put them together in January 2015. You certainly can't go wrong with a Jayaruh brush and #54 looks as good as it performs. Stirling Iced Coffee? Unbelievably decadent both in performance and in scent. Can't wait until he puts this one back in production. Yes, Rod, I know you need to reformulate it a bit so I'll be patient, but man is it a good one.

Two passes and touch ups and no blood. Just baby butt smooth. The scar from the pain stick is slowly healing. Caught it just a tad tonight but no blood at all. Just have to keep working around it until it's finally healed up. One of my better efforts that one.

Day off tomorrow starts with doctor visit, then a bank visit, then a day of waiting on Amazon packages to show up. My wife has been on a shopping spree for things for the new car, new things for the apartment, and I have been on a spree for new phones and a few other goodies. Friday should be Stirling day as our package shipped from there today. It's almost like it's the holidays or something! Have a great Thursday everyone!

Soap: B&M Reserve Classic
Lucky Tiger face tonic
AS: B&M Reserve Classic

Good morning!

The DE89 came up for today's shave. This razor would benefit from a focus. Not irritation or weepers or anything like that just the extra effort it takes to get a close shave. Three passes with some buffing on my right jaw and extra j-hooking under my chin brought me to a middle of the road DFS. The alum was silent but I could see if I didn't pay attention to technique I would have had problems from the extra shaving.

Two pass no drama shave left me calm, smooth, and refreshed with a super close shave. Nomad is a classic made no more shave soap. The scent is truly sublime. I am tempted to pay the almost $50 for another tube but really don't need it yet. Good stuff! Threw on some B&M Night Music for my trip to Motor Vehicles to renew my drivers license.
