Just used Bonaparte for the first time this morning. I like it (not enough to use it every day but is a nice change of pace). To my nose (and I'm not good at describing scents) it is very herbaceous. Very different than anything else I own.
SOTD December 6, 2018 Prep: Cold water and Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap Blade: vintage Personna twin Razor: eBarbershop Type O clone Brush: Surrey restored badger Soap: Stirling Black Pepper Lime Post: Witch hazel, Stirling Black Pepper Lime aftershave Wonderful shave with Black Pepper Lime this morning. Interesting scent. It's not in your face. Much more subtle. The lime comes through but the black pepper element is different. I almost detected an earthiness when applying the aftershave, but could be totally wrong. It's a nice scent and the performance was incredible as usual. Enjoy your day!
I wonder if it;'s similar to Clubman Veg, the history of which also includes Bonparte. Although having said that, I suppose the similarities only rest in the history.
I'm placing myself on a mission to get to the end of my Barbershop soap by Groundhog Day. I love that soap, of course, but it's a chance to make room for others, such as the 2019 Stoylin Tony Award winner.
I'm looking forward to the final nomination and award winning scent announcement. Paul, have you considered Baker Street? A truly timeless aroma that consistantly garners compliments. My two younger sons love the shampoo bar and I just can't stop hugging them after bath time. It blends well with many of the other scents as well. I don't envy you narrowing down to one...too many great options to choose from!
Well, Baker St. could be a possibility for my Gift Certificate choice(I was a lucky winner of that recently). I'll have another look at it. It's great your sons appreciate something from Stoylin .
So many wonderful scents and only one winner. I too look forward to your winner, Paul. Good luck with your selection.
We had a fabulous time there - beautiful weather, great food, awesome people, and so restful. What more can we ask!
I'm using this thread to thank all my additional "likers" from last night to this morning. 80! Yes, the snowman and bowling ball. The reason I thought I'd mention it here is that many came as result of my posts in the Exchange. Thanks much, fellas!!
