The Gillette Super Blue Blade (or is it Super Gillette Blue Blade?) is a Shanghai-made blade which I believe is primarily intended for the Chinese domestic market. They come in the typical 5-blade tuck in packs of 5, 10, or 100 as well as a single blade bundled with a version of the Tech (like both the Indian 7 o'Clock Sterling and Russian Rubie Plus blades). They are not particularly common in the US and ordering them from Chinese sellers was somewhat risky due to rampant counterfeiting. I took a shot on a couple of tucks from an AliExpress vendor as they also carried the razor sets which, I assumed were less likely to be counterfeit. That... and they were on a decent sale for 11.11.
I'd used one of these blades before, somewhat early in my journey, as it had come with the razor. My recollection was that it was a decent blade (unlike the Chinese blade horror stories I was hearing). Today's shave bore that out. My impression from today was that it was a legitimate Gillette blade of decent quality. I'm a touch underwhelmed but curious to try it in some different razors over the next few days.
At the moment, I'm calling the shave a DFS+ but admit that I may reassess it upwards as the day goes on.
