  2. Mine is definitely a shedder. In my experience, the shedding has slowed a tiny bit but I still love some every time I use it. I finally passed mine on to my wife and daughter.

  9. To really scare them all to death, you need to add a sign to that skeleton: "Plumbing and electrical contractor. Still waiting for payment of his invoice from this houseowner..."

    December Shave # 3

    Razor
    : Merkur 23C
    Blade: Ying Jili
Preshave: Neutrogena Skin clearing Shave cream
    Lather
: Arko Shave stick mushed into a What the Puck container
    Brush: Yaqi Evil Zebra Synthetic
Postshave: Pacific Shaving Company Caffeinated aftershave

Had a great shave with the Ying Jili once again. I was a bit rushed so didn't have my usual time to shave but still ended up with a quality shave. The blade feels better than the last one. Seems to be starting to smooth out quite well but still plenty sharp. I finally tried out the Yaqi Evil Zebra that @Linuxguile (Andrew) was kind enough to PIF to me. My first synthetic and I'm loving it! A big Thank you to Andrew for sending it to me. I think this is my favorite brush now! No weepers at all this time. Dare I say I had almost too much lather...Almost Decadent...to the point that I had to flush most of it down the drain. :whacky011:

  12. I've never tried an Adjustable. I'm looking forward to trying it out. At what setting were you getting the best combo of sharp/smooth if you don't mind me asking?

  13. Very nice photo and setup with a great looking brush @Spock. :happy096:

  14. I have a few adjustable razors. I usually start on 5 and take it from there. With a Feather blade I'll leave on 5 and with Gillette blades I'm at 7.

  16. Got some ragged old work clothes? Dress him up for realism!

I set my Ming Shi 2000s (identical Merkur Futur clone in a different box) on 4-1/2 or 5 with any blade. Be sure to get the cap aligned with the base plate. The two dots on the base (A) go opposite the raised bump on the outside of the cap (B).

  19. DECember Focus Variation Iteration Number Two

    Proraso Red Sandalwood SS
    The King badger brush
    Suribachi bowl
    '46-'47 Aristocrat
    Fresh Personna blade
    Proraso Red Sandalwood AS
SOTD 12082018 Personna blade.gif Keeping on with the Every Day Shave but swapped in a different soap, aftershave, and razor. Straight up sandalwood with Shea Butter and it lathers easier than a typical hard puck. After seeing several Aristocrats out and in use I loaded mine with a blade I picked up in a trade with Perry @PLAla. Not sure if these are Blues, Labs, or Med Preps but they give smooth shaves on several days service. So the lather happened, took my WTG & ATG, added in a little fiddling clean up, and was happy with a minimum irritation CCS. Splashed on matching AS and relaxed in front of the boob tube on a rainy Saturday afternoon.
    Good Shaves Y'all!
  20. scrape marks on the opening door would help too..
