Now you're mixing themes. "Decadent MAYhem". Well, ok, so it does have a certain ring to it. "Merry MAYhem". "Happy MAYhem". I'm beginning to see your point.

Remember, the more paranoid you get the more potential real reasons may appear. It's a never ending circle of fear. Or, as we say at Cartel HQ - amusement.:signs136:

My Secret Santa gift arrived today. Well, yesterday technically, but I picked it up from the fine folks at the USPS today. And, after getting my blood pressure back to normal as to how a piece of Registered mail could be put in the wrong bin causing them a long search (their explanation was a shrug and a dead eyed stare) I headed on to work with much anticipation. I had it narrowed down to what it could be before I looked but I was pleasantly surprised. Santa apparently thinks I was a good boy this year. Here's what was inside.

A stunning kamasori! I know nothing about who made it etc., but am eager to find out. It needs honed and I'm working on that. I'll send it along with the one @Drygulch dared me with so they'll both be fully shave ready for the new year. I posted up the unwrapping pics at the Holiday Gifts page with a huge thanks to the mystery Santa. I'll just repeat the thanks here as well! Thanks Santa!

    Great picture, Rick.
Very nice, Jason. I really enjoyed the MonoBilt while on loan from Andrew.
    Good stuff, Paul.
Nice, Danny. I see you're getting some local enabling in.

    RyX DoH!

It was Patrick. Even with Netflix stuttering through a particularly weird movie. "The Lobster" took longer than it's 119 minutes run time to play. It received an Oscar nomination, 32 other obscure award wins, and left me with more questions than answers. This is not an endorsement or recommendation, more of a warning.

Thanks Perry! First DE blades I bought were generic Israeli Personna. These are better. Glad you found your razor of choice. ;)

That formerly low hanging branch does make for some good looking handles Jason. I was only the middle man between the tree and the craftsman. Glad I could contribute to your shave today!

Paul - John @John Ruschmeyer has a thread for these less than beautiful, well loved old razors. Flawsome!

Danny, that gets my stamp of approval on several levels! Haven't found a Pinaud I don't like yet. Clubman isn't for everyone, but it's recognizably classic Barber Shop scent. Then there's Tabasco sauce - my daughter was born in New Iberia (next town over). No self respecting Cajun's fridge is without that juice.

Nice brush Patrick! One day Jim will be into quadruple digits on his handles. That one is special being low numbered!

Neal, is it traditional or Western grind? I know you do Pain Sticks so a kami is the next logical step. Looking forward to getting the Paul Harvey "Rest of the Story" details!

Traditional grind. I have been interested in kamis since I got my first CJB back in 2015. Just haven't taken the plunge beyond using the one Adam found and dared me with. They, like any true straight, require stropping which seems to be my stumbling block. I'm willing to overcome that block once I get this one and the one from Adam honed up and ready to go.

Birdseye handle is perfect in my hand. Think this was hand made before he got the lathe

Forgot to mention, Gary, that if you like that C&E soap (or Cream or Shower Soap for that matter) there is a C&E Factory Outlet in that Outlet Mall right on the way to the airport in Vancouver. Macarthur Glen or something like that. Anyway, the stuff in there was like 75% off. I passed on the soap and balm, but grabbed lots of shower bar soaps there one of the times I was in Vancouver this year..
Ying Jili? I’m not familiar with those blades. You won another PIF? You’ve done well this fall, Nirav!
Yup, another awesome, grainy, retro Rick Pic.
Others know more about injectors than I, Patrick, but the head sure looks like an E2. I say that because of the lack of parallel grooves on the top. As well, it doesn’t say Eversharp on the round part as the Gs usually do. I have a similar handle in what I consider an E3. Who knows. Others may chime in, though.
That is quite a gift, Neal. Congrats!

Your Clubman looks right-as-rain in that Tabasco bottle.

Eventually, I'll finish off my bottle of El Yucateco and give mine the same treatment.

I thought this funny, and it is. Then I remembered when the bomb squaud was called because a colledge student had a sticker that read " PIPE BOMB" on his very nice and pricy bike. It's a local rock band and they handed out stickers to promo themselves. He tried to get it through to the squaud, that's all it was. They blew up the bike anyway, as a precaution.
So when your sitting at the police station telling them, it's all a joke..... well, you get my point.
We live in a different world than 30 years ago.
    it is funny though...

    Wolfman WR1-DC with Darwin Copper
    Gillette Silver Blue
    The Varlet
Saponificio Varesino Stella Alpina Soap & Aftershave
    ADP Ginepro di Sardegna

Good morning gents! Another decadent shave today. A luxurious two pass shave with my polished copper Wolfman WR1-DC. First pass with the more aggressive .74 gap OC and the second with the .67 gap SB left my face with a near BBS. SV Stella Alpina super thick n' slick protective lather smelled wonderful. I'm totally refreshed and dolphin smooth today. Have a blessed Sunday everyone.

    Razor: Supply Co. Plate 3
    Blade: Schick Proline (1)
    Brush: SOC boar
    Pre-shave: Stirling Mentholated
    Soap: B&M Reserve Lavender
    Thayers Lavender witch hazel
    AS: B&M Reserve Lavender

    Good morning!

Excellent shave to start the day. Three passes to BBS. The Supply razor with the 3 dot plate felt very smooth this time around. I'm tentatively giving the credit to the Proline but too many variables to say for sure. The only issue was a pimple forming on my chin which was removed on the first pass. That spot on my chin was the only place the alum had anything to report.

Have a great Sunday, gentlemen! [IMG]
