Great shave this morning.

I hope the picture is better. Trying out some studio lighting that I had laying around.

I broke the 30dc and used the Oneblade synthetic brush that I received yesterday. This was my first time using a synthethic and I can say that I really enjoyed it. No soaking and it dries quickly. I was also surprised by the softness and stiffness as well. The brush whips up a mean lather.

Oneblade Synthetic Brush – 20mm knot
Palmolive Sensitive Shave Cream
Salsa\Timeless bowl scuttle
Rockwell 6S
Voskhod Blades
Nivea Men Sensitive Post Balm Shave
Pinaud Clubman Aftershave Lotion

Two passes with plate 5 and finished up with plate 3. Applied some Nivea and followed up a few minutes later with the Pinaud Clubman Aftershave from the Tabasco bottle.

December Focus

RazoRock XXX~~Mondial 26mm~~1955 A4 Gillette Red Tip~~Polsilver SI
I have said just about all that I am going to say about the RR XXX.
I will speak today about the Mondial and the Gillette.
Except for the cheap decal on the aluminum handle, the Mondial 26mm is an exceptional brush.
Seriously, it is the first boar knot that I have ever purchased, that didn't stink from the get-go and
it is also the quickest to get "broken-in".
There were a few black bristles, which I did cut out. Not many, maybe about 20. Made a big difference.
Not much to say about the Gillette. I chuckle at the original ads, stating the Red Tip is for those
who prefer a more aggressive shave.
I find it to be a real pussycat.
That being said, it holds a blade as good as anything I have ever used.
And, as we all know, it's the blade that shaves you, not the razor.
Polsilver SI once again. Still going strong. Not a hint of dragging.
I figure I have maybe 1-2 doses of the XXX Aftershave milk; the same with the soap.
Looking forward to moving on.

Hello friends,
Today's shave was with the 3rd razor from the auction. It is a DE razor....and that's about all I know of it. But I'll say this , it shaved damnnnnn good! There is no markings of any kind on it and all the seller replied was"pas de nom" .
Tried a Rapira ( I'm loving these blades) that was used twice before paired with proraso green, unknown brush...see the pattern? ...and Stirling balm. My sinuses are clear , my head and face baby smooth and I'm not feeling like I got taken in this deal.
Just cleaned and sanitized it again and I think it's going to my God son as I've put together a starter kit for him which I have high hopes of him using. Since he is a military man now, im adding in a tech travel kit also since he sure packs that gear in tight for those hikes and other such maneuvers they must do.
Since I have no boys to pass my stuff on to someday, I figured I may as well familiarize him with some of his inheritance to be. Hope he will enjoy it as much as I am now.
Tomorrow I will just randomly pick a razor and gear and see how it goes. Until then...Good evening.

In going with the Decadent December I pick a shiny Koraat and a gift from my Secret Santa, Oleo El Caballero for the return shave. The soap was very wet and slick with a great scent. Unfortunately the edge is need a visit to the touch up stones.

View attachment 180898 Put together an impromptu scuttle for a warm lather. Cool temps here on the South Coast so I didn't do my usual cool water shave. The boar brush and sandalwood soap seemed to like it. I could defiantly smell the soap with my slightly stuffy nose. Full three passes, pushed my luck with some clean up, finished DFS all the way to my lower neck. The previous owners of this DE knew about riding the cap. Nickel showing up top, but the guard bar is still shiny gold. Mass produced soap and AS? I like it.

Well, interesting morning so far. We've had lots of rain the past three days and there was a little snow mixed in late yesterday in some areas. Then temperatures went below freezing and there was a chance for black ice on the roads. Then we wake up this morning to a freezing fog advisory. I get showered and shaved and dressed as normal and then get the notification that school will be delayed by two hours due to the road conditions. So, I'm basically ready to go and now I have two more free hours.

The shave was nice and easy. Tiny nick on the corner of my mouth on a spot that I have to watch, but smooth and clean otherwise. Haverford is a wonderful pipe tobacco scent. Great lather whipped up by the Zenith boar and smooth removal from the I1 injector. All around nice.

So, I'll have some extra coffee and then play around with Wilson some in my unexpected extra time. Have a great day!

Good morning!

The Timeless .95 ends my run of different razors for each day. Three passes to BBS. Excellent smooth shave to start the day. The alum had nothing to say.

I purchased the Silver Blues in bulk on reputation alone. I was kinda sorry I did. They didn't feel very smooth to me. I've just finished a run with a fresh blade in each of my DE's. I don't know what's changed in my technique but I've been getting wonderful smooth shaves from each of my razors.

I've been taking my SOTD photos for the week on the weekends so I have natural light. This time of year I leave the house before sunrise and return after sunset. Before taking the picture of the tgn boar I brushed it across my hand and I noticed a couple of loose hairs. I started messing with the brush and before I knew it I had a couple a dozen hairs in a pile in front of me. I lost several more this morning. I'm not sure why it's giving up on me. Shame because it has really broken in nicely.

Tomorrow is going to start a focus using the Sabre while continuing on with the brush and soap rotation.

Back to the Wolfman Ti and a new soap, Oleo Shiloh. I think Shiloh is meant to be a dupe of Acqua Di Parma Colonia. If so then I need to try Colonia because the Shiloh smells fantastic. Even my wife commented on the scent while I was shaving. The best part is the soap with its duck fat base works as good or better than it smells. Three passes and touch ups and I caught the baby easily. A splash of Fine Italian Citrus and I am ready for the day. I hope everyone has a great Tuesday.

Another Black Friday purchase showed up yesterday, and I was really excited to try this soap out. It didn't disappoint, in fact it probably exceeded my expectations. There is a lot going on with this scent. It definitely has the Bay Rum base, but I can get quite a bit of the Frankincense and Myrhh on top. There is some added woodiness, which works really well. Behind it all is just a touch of a floral scent that just seems to round it all out. My wife definitely liked it this morning, so I can tell this is one of her preferred scents. Of the Black Friday purchases I have tried so far, I am 2 for 2 with my wife on the scents. That is an almost unheard of streak. I hope it keeps up. I also hope everyone has a great day!

Excellent super close two pass +cleanup with the Wolfman custom WR1-OC, First pass with the more aggressive .74gap and the second with the .67gap made for a smooth and comfortable near BBS shave today. The Atomic Rocket is a large brush with excellent weight and is reknotted with an Envy White Two Band Fan. SDBB Rosemary Lavender, easy to lather thick, protective, and super slick soap. Finished with the Fine Lavender and ADP Cedro Di Taormina. Have a terrific Tuesday guys!

SOTD DEcember 11th

GEM Micromatic OC
GEM Industrial CS (2)
Cella of Hagen Street
Yaqi Ruby Red (24mm, Frigate Class)

Second shave on the GEM Industrial CS blade wasn't as smooth as the first after doctoring it up. I will give it another stropping on leather before its next shave to see if that helps. Built my lather on the puck this morning and then incorperated a little more water while working it on my face, ended up with a thick, creamy, shiny, slick lather. Based on the surface of the soap container I would say I'm picking up about 45% Jeeves, 45% VdH and 10% Cella, soon the last remnants of the Cella will be gone and I guess I might had to call it Van Der Hudson. Have a great day my friends!

Second shave on the GEM Industrial CS blade wasn't as smooth as the first after doctoring it up. I will give it another stropping on leather before its next shave to see if that helps. Built my lather on the puck this morning and then incorperated a little more water while working it on my face, ended up with a thick, creamy, shiny, slick lather. Based on the surface of the soap container I would say I'm picking up about 45% Jeeves, 45% VdH and 10% Cella, soon the last remnants of the Cella will be gone and I guess I might had to call it Van Der Hudson. Thanks , I'm sure he will like it too. Added a synth brush , puck of soap, tube cream , balm, tons of blades, a bowl and aftershave. Now i need to restock the den. Just ordered a multi pack of 100 Russian blades w/ free razor . MM sure looks good btw Andrew!

Another Black Friday purchase showed up yesterday, and I was really excited to try this soap out. It didn't disappoint, in fact it probably exceeded my expectations. There is a lot going on with this scent. It definitely has the Bay Rum base, but I can get quite a bit of the Frankincense and Myrhh on top. There is some added woodiness, which works really well. Behind it all is just a touch of a floral scent that just seems to round it all out. My wife definitely liked it this morning, so I can tell this is one of her preferred scents. Of the Black Friday purchases I have tried so far, I am 2 for 2 with my wife on the scents. That is an almost unheard of streak. I hope it keeps up. I also hope everyone has a great day!

Thank you Patrick. I only have one razor that I really know the history - a Krona. Had two of them but when my father asked about a DE set up I offered him a handful of mild razors. He chose one he'd given to me. Not often a razor returns to it's original owner!

It's working well for me so far. Upside is I get to use more product!

Great shave this morning.

I hope the picture is better. Trying out some studio lighting that I had laying around.

I broke the 30dc and used the Oneblade synthetic brush that I received yesterday. This was my first time using a synthethic and I can say that I really enjoyed it. No soaking and it dries quickly. I was also surprised by the softness and stiffness as well. The brush whips up a mean lather.

Oneblade Synthetic Brush – 20mm knot
Palmolive Sensitive Shave Cream
Salsa\Timeless bowl scuttle
Rockwell 6S
Voskhod Blades
Nivea Men Sensitive Post Balm Shave
Pinaud Clubman Aftershave Lotion

Two passes with plate 5 and finished up with plate 3. Applied some Nivea and followed up a few minutes later with the Pinaud Clubman Aftershave from the Tabasco bottle.
