  5. Thanks, Clint. While I am also glad they have tubs now, I’m not super impressed with the tub itself. The fine pucks are quite small and so is the tub. It is also made of quite thin plastic. I guess that doesn’t affect performance, but certainly doesn’t feel all that nice in the hand.
  6. Thank you, Gentlemen.
Some ‘informative enabling’ as well, Andrew!

  7. Congrats Charlie. From the third photo I'd guess a 1946-1947. The folded or bent center bar with tabs rather than the later notched type.

In my experience my '46-'47 Crat shaves similar to a Red Tip. As Neal mentioned, it has a larger gap and the rounded silo doors like a Fat Boy rather than the flatter head of a Slim.
  8. nice razor...

  10. DECember slip sliding away

As my experiment in every day shaving moved along, I slipped later each day. I could have, but opted out this evening. Still I'm nine shaves into the month, up three from my previous habit. I'm happy with a 50% increase!

Caution; If this song gets stuck in your head it's not my fault. It often comes up in my on-board internal radio station.
  11. very cool,i shaved sunday, monday night and i plan to shave tonight or tomorrow morning.5 shaves a week is better than 2-3..and soaps will diminish more quickly..

  12. Decadent December!!

    December 11, 2018

    Razor - 1959 (E4) Gillette 195 (Fatboy) (9)
    Blade - sharp-star.jpg (1)
Soap - Stirling Glastonbury small stupid sheep.jpg
    Brush - Jayaruh #230
    Post - Alum

Whoa! Posting this before midnight. Will wonders never cease. Actually it was a rough night out there and I called it to an end a bit early. It was either that or start running people off the road. I saved that for another night.

After three shaves on the Dura Sharp blade I decided to get back to some real decadence. Sharp Star blades baby! And, loaded in the Fatboy it's hard to say it isn't almost illegally decadent. Add the Stirling Glastonbury with mutton tallow and a JR brush to whip it into shape - I felt better instantly just looking at that setup. Two passes and the baby is in the house and the alum is quiet. And that's shaving two days growth. The cut from the pain stick is finally healed to the point it isn't an issue. Another few days and I may be able to try another pain stick.

Great shave after a rather trying day all around. I feel refreshed! Tomorrow is my Friday. For most of you it's Wednesday. I'll try not to laugh too hard about that as I go into my "weekend". Have a great one!

2nd go round with the 1912 Brit, Treet blade, Colgate, omega boar and Aqua velva blue. Classic vintage shave left me feeling great.

  18. Ren and Stimpy gets stuck in many other places. How long has it been since....my kids had the CD and tape of their music, they wore it out.
    Happy, Happy...
Well, good luck with the every day trial. Rules are ment to be broken, or bent anyway, sometimes ;)
