That's a very cool looking razor, Randy. Congrats on becoming proficient with straights. That demonstrates great commitment. I hope things begin to settle down for you at work.

    December 13

No shave for me today. Long day yesterday, and I'm not feelin' it today.

Thinking ahead to January and beyond...

I'll move to C.O. Bigelow (aka Proraso) cream after I use up my tub of SC Love. I'm inspired by all the Proraso love I'm seeing here lately. I have three tubes (not crazy about those metal tubes), so it's all going into an empty shaving cream tub. It has been awhile, so I may use one or both of my shavettes in January. I have a Parker SRX (love it) and a Feather AC folder that's still new in the box. It would be fun to do a side-by-side comparison between the two. Shavettes are my one and only ticket to the Dark Side...straight razor edge maintenance is not my thing. It's so pedestrian. ;)

I hope you all have a fantastic day!

I trust that gentleman has a timetable for lung-breathing. Good of you to look ahead to Jan. Charlie-I might do a similar post soon.

We got back to town last night, a little earlier than anticipated. Swmbo is very sore but is at least able to rest at home now. Thanks to all the well wishes on here, it was very much appreciated. I will try to get a little work done this afternoon remotely from home, but took the time earlier this morning to get a shave in at home before flying to Vancouver tonight.
Was it DEcadent? Well, a smooth and mild shaver coupled with one of my favourite brushes certainly helped. I like the scent of this cream, but to be honest I can get just as good a lather from Proraso or Palmolive SCs. Finishing with CL always feels decadent, though.
    Have a great day all!

Thanks Paul. I hope you're doing well.

The guy in the photo is no gentleman. It is @Primotenore. You'll have to ask him about his lung capacity. As an established country and western singer, night club crooner, operatic warbler, and general purpose troubadour, I'd say it's well above average. ;)

It has broken in nicely but for some reason it decided to start relieving itself of bristles.

Great photo, Jason. I'm sure Stephanie is happy to be home.
    Safe travels.

Terry, you're killin' it! I agree with your assessment on skin conditioning. My skin is in better shape now than it ever has been. Daily (hopefully mild) exfoliation combined with all the different products has really helped me. Even on days that I don't shave, I often use witch hazel, moisturizer, and aftershave.

I get a lot of 4711 from my Arlington cream.
    Thank you all. :)

Rick, Italian Barber was selling Feathers for $18 per hundred on Black Friday. That's the best price I've seen. It might be worth watching their website through the holidays to see if they repeat the sale.

I was able to follow along somewhat superficially the past few days. Back to my Fu-style Multi-quoting ways for today:

Glad to hear that brush is working out, Neal. Seeing it today reminded me that I have one of those APShave Co Flattops still. I'll have to make a handle for it when I get a chance.
F plate! Not too many people seem to have gone for that option, Clint. Sounds like a winner for you though.
Great pic again, Jim. I agree with what others on here have said about the TGN Finest knots. Excellent, and often overlooked these days. The synthetic I got from them is a pretty standard Plisson type, but works fine as well. I know you've enjoyed your boar from them, but I just found it to be too short a loft.
Enjoy the performance, Perry, and Happy Birthday to your wife! Sorry about the blade, but it does happen time to time.
Great looking combo, Mark. That SV soap doesn't seem to be available from them, only stateside. I see Joseph isn't overly enamored with that soap- how did it work for you?
Safe travels, Brian. Hopefully you'll be home soon.
Some very interesting experimentation, John. Is the Tuckaway the same head as the regular New Improved? Just a shorter handle?
Yes, Hail to the King. The soap and splash sound like a winner. I'm not as huge on packaging as others (as long as it isn't a small tin or tub), but don't like plastic bottles.
Very interesting report, Joseph. I don't have that soap, but do have the Felce Aromatica in the same 4.3 base. I don't find it a 'soft' triple milled at all. About the same as the Fine pucks I have, I would say. Do you find it softer than your Felce Aromatica? If so, interesting that they call it the same base. Also interesting that they don't make that scent under their own brand (not on the website, anyway), only Asylum.

Perry, sorry today's shave wasn't the best. GEM blades look like something you'd get at Ace hardware in the paint aisle. You'll get another chance tomorrow, and hopefully it will be much better. It sounds like you have a fun day planned with Wilson and your Bride. Happy Birthday to her!

Thank you Jason! The soap is in a 3.5" container, which boarders on too small to load a 30mm+ brush.

I bid on another Tuckaway set, but I doubt I'll win it. These little sets go for some crazy prices at auction.
