Not growing up and going to school in Louisiana, I missed the mandatory government indoctrination about the Cajun Migration from Canada to the Gulf coast. I didn't even get to be told of The War of Northern Aggression (Southern viewpoint on the Civil War) as a child. Then my mother informed me I'm not Cajun. My Boudreaux heritage is Parisian rather than the French/Canadian - African - American Indian mix. Considering the additional Dutch, German, Welsh (not British), and assorted Delaware and other Indian heritage... I'm a mutt.

Sounds like a good plan Charlie. I might do the same with the big bag of Proraso Cypress & Vetyer cream. I tried putting some in a smaller tube and it still drys out. So I might as well put it in a big tub.

I couldn't decide which plate to pick when I ordered the Karve so I went with the D, E and F plates. The F plate is fairly aggressive. Of the 3 plates the D is the most comfortable being very smooth, efficient and forgiving. The E plate is a touch more efficient but not as forgiving. The F might be a little more efficient than the E put is not very forgiving with its 1.23mm blade gap.

Thanks Clint. At this point, it'll be a fluke if I win it. Fingers crossed.

My Felce is the 4.0 base and it is a much harder soap than the Colonia.

Yes Sir, larger part of our province is Acadian . When the British came calling to force them out , they joined forces with the native Indians and held the British off. Not far from where I live the British burned the town including the church, hence the town acquired the name Burnt church. I am from Miramichi, which is a native name for the river. We also have a large contingincy of Metis also. The Acadians sure know how to have a good time. Big celebration on Ausust 11th . And that's my history lesson for today.

That's how us hosers roll eh!

Grrr. My “Shave Zen” was seriously interrupted this morning, with the early arrival of the crew to install the new vanity top in the master bathroom. Seriously? Who shows up early these days? The nerve!

Using the brush formally known as “Ol’ Shedder”, the replacement TGN Finest knot had the Flying Hide churned into a truly decadent lather. Oh, yeah….luxurious all the way. I no more than picked up the razor when they arrived. Thankfully, my wife is home today, so she could get the dogs outside and answer the door.

What was supposed to be a relaxing shave turned into a “get the job done quickly”, kind of shave. In the end, great finished product - although I did manage to catch myself on the chin in my haste during the first pass. With a new GSB loaded in, and the ultra-slick lather, everything was so smooth that I didn’t even notice right away. Not bad enough that styptic was needed…so no biggie.

Honestly, I’m impressed on how well the shave went (nick aside), for a distracted rush job.

I think this setup will be repeated tomorrow…hopefully at a slower pace.
