    DECember - full speed ahead

    Proraso Red Sandalwood SS
    T-400 badger brush "888"
    Suribach bowl scuttle
    '46-'47 Gillette Astrocrat
    Personna Blue (5th use)
    Proraso Red Sandalwood AS
SOTD 12132018.gif I'll be back to cool water shaves once this weather settles down. Until then setting the shave bowl inside a larger one gives me sustained warm lather. Proraso Red seems to not care what temp it is. Took my old usual three plus passes, a little cleanup, and got a nice finish with no errors. The knot in this brush by Steve @Vlasta just might be good for face lathering. It holds quite a soap load. With a stuffy nose I don't really smell the soap or aftershave. Might add a dose of Osage Rub for the Vicks scent next time.
    Good Shaves Y'all!

Ice cream on a cookie is the best

I’m sitting in the Denver airport halfway home and can’t wait. I’ll be in my own bed In a little less than four hours! You won’t be seeing an early SOTD post from me....

I’m looking forward to your thoughts on it. I feel it’s a top performer - one of the best that I’ve tried.

    Gillette Z1 (1954) Flare-Tip SuperSpeed / vintage Wilkinson Sword (2)
Semogue Owners Club cherrywood Tuxedo brush
    Fendrihan Lavender Sandalwood soap sample
Alum and TSD Lavender Milk Aftershave

Yow! Over 350 posts behind! I was feeling glum and lazy the last few days, so I didn't bother shaving - or reading the thread - since Monday evening. This afternoon I picked myself up by the scruff of my beard and cleaned up my act again. Three days of neglect had left me with 20 pages of posts to catch up on!

The scruffy beard was easier... The next TTO in my test rack was in excellent mechanical and cosmetic shape. Two passes with it and I was back from hobo to cleanshaven. No issues at all.

I think I will continue using this soap sample now until it finally disappears. It started out as a baggie of about two ounces of soap flakes that I compressed into a puck. And I have used it off and on now for months... Time to sink it before the end of the year. It's a lightly scented, decent quality, German-made vegan soap. Fine to try but I have soaps and creams I like better. I probably wouldn't buy a puck of it when the sample is gone.

hello folks, continuing the almost daily shave routine, proraso white pre shave as usual, thought i would blow the dust off the #22 4th gen brit aristocrat.this razor is smooth and quite mild, very comfortable.,add a nacet, and a quick soak for the simpson commodore badger .this small but effective brush whipped up a warm slick lather. barrister and mann reserve classic, or gillette sun up was outstanding, 2 pass combination shave with very minor pick ups ,dfs no drama..i think this is the 4th shave since sunday, with no issues so far.i will definitely continue with this endeavour ..lower neck is happy and face feels great..who knew...a touch of thayers and the b and m classic splash, lovely stuff..have a great friday , gary 20181213_203557.jpg

Thank you, Gentlemen. SWMBO has quite a recovery period ahead, but yes, is definitely glad to be home. I feel like a heel having to leave her for the night, but she is in good hands with her father.
I sure hope this meeting tomorrow is worth it.
Bruce- that is the first I have heard that the Bon Vivant is going to be discontinued. It is a nice scent, but I’d probably only rush out to stock up on Unconditional Surrender. Actually, GLSq ending would probably result in a bottle as well.

Brush looks great, Bruce. I guess I missed you posting how you got the old knot out of there- did you steam it or drill it out?
Same, Clint. Mine is 4.3 and a typical hard triple milled consistency.
I think you saved me a few quid with your review today, Joseph.
Sounds like another winner, Jim. I haven’t tried any of the PAA soaps, but apparently they are bringing back their vintage Brut dupe in the spring. Do you have that one?
Wicked looking razor, Keith! I don’t recognize that brush, is it a new one?
Those Stirling Finest Fans are awesome. Great score, Neal.
Hope you get over your cold soon, Rick. Awesome vintage ‘grainy’ photo as always.
Sorry to hear you were a little down, John. Hope you are feeling better.
Glad to hear shaving nearly every day is working for you, Gary. More chances for awesome shaves!
Vancouver is as rainy as always.:)
