I find the injecto-matic to be a very effective razor but not as much fun as the E2.
    Happy Shaving one and all.

    Yo 'K'..
I've been writting collectors..although you are my man for WW2 Navy Schicks..I haven't heard from Billy. Do you know where he is?

Away, what I have been hearing so far, is your E3's with the plastic molded handles were definitely WW2 Navy issues. And production of those started app. late in 1943. There were actually more E2's and E3' with bakelite handles issued prior to that.

So in reality, your plastc handled E3's are actually more rare. But they turn up more as Navy issue because unless an E2 or E3 with the butterscotch bakelite handle was issued to your Grand Dad, theres no way to tell if it really is Millitary issue or not, other than the box. And thats not guaranteed with mix matching and most were separated from their boxes anyway.

The collector that I bought this E2 from said that The case and the razor were both made during the sametime frame...and neither one looks hardly touched. As old as they are and their matching condition, he thinks they are original....So with that in mind and in my twisted parallel universe, it could be the same one my Pop had...lmao!!

If I got nothing else out of this incident...It's been that I got to research this little corner of Schickdom...And it really is a clouded issue...

    Addendum:
In previous posts I forgot to add:

I did hear from 2 collectors who both said that the ivory molded handled E3 US Schicks were issued in the Blue cases for the Navy specifically. Some believe they were issued to Naval Officers only.

The Red cases were earlier in the War and were issued to all service personnel..So most, probably went to the Army, therefore they received tougher treatment so we don't see those red cases around anymore. And most believe, none of the redshell cases received the later manf. plastic handled E3's.

No one seems to know for sure...But some think they stopped making the redcases in 1943.

    Supply SE. V1 / V2 No 3 Plate.
    Personna S/S [3 ]
    Pitralon Classic A/S Lotion

Now 3 Shaves in with my hybrid Supply SE , using the Personna Blade. Another very nice Shave with excellent results.
Use of the Personna blade in this Razor has transformed it from being a rather mediocre performer , to one I could easily pick up when a Shave is required for a special occasion. Acquiring a revised V2 No3 plate was a good move, switching to use of a Personna blade was too.

Much improved shave from yesterday. I tossed that blade and chose a new one. Much better results. Shaved the way a Pushbutton should - easy, smooth, efficient. Nice all around. Have a great day!

Anyone know their Schick razors? That was a rhetorical question... ;)

I need some help identifying razor models from a lot containing 6 Schick Injectors that arrived today. I've cleaned them the best I can for today and they look much better than when they were delivered.

In the pictures below, some observations to help.

Razors 1-4 have Schick Injector on the base of the spring.

    Razors 5-6 have Eversharp Schick.

Razors 1-3 have tabs (or flaps) on the springs.

Razor 1 has random striations on the guard. It also is able to push the spring to the left for cleaning the head.

All the rest have parallel grooves on the guard.

Razor 4 has a handle that seems a bit off. It looked like it had been shaved down to make a smaller handle. Then, while cleaning, I noticed some of the Bakelite shedding.

Razors 1-3 have only 1 patent number. Razors 4-5 have 2 patent numbers.

Razor 5 has a rounded connection to the handle. Razors 1-4 have a semi-square connection to the handle.

Any thoughts on model identification for these? Thanks for the help!

I think based on reading various posts/threads that they are:
    1: E2
    2-3 : E?
    4-5: G?
    6: J1

Here is a wonderful website for Schick injector ID help:

    http://www.safetyrazors.net/schick/schicktech.htm

#6 is definitely a J1. Not sure about the others but they definitely look like E and G series.

Edit: I see now that #4-5 have two patent numbers - those would be G series.

Very cool information. That’s the most I’ve ever seen about these.

Regarding @Billyfergie he’s doing really well but not on the forum like he used to. We should have had someone interview him for his arcane Schick knowledge in the heyday a few years ago. :chores016:

I’d go for the story that the razor could have been your Pop’s... :happy093:
