Absolutely fantastic post. Great work trying to get that soap to work for you and great description of how it failed. I have to say, reading the ingredients list is more like trying to decipher a chemistry manual. I appreciate their emphasis on avoiding palm oil and other substances not good for people or the environment, but methinks that when you have an ingredient list that long you really haven't done much than complicate what should be a simple product, really. I am also unimpressed with the lather in the picture. Pretty sad looking, especially for the lathers I've seen you make with other soaps! Great information and it is unfortunate that honest and solid reviews like that aren't welcomed by merchants and manufacturers. They might actually be able to make better products and have happy customers if they'd listen.

No shave today. TBH. I just wasn't feeling it this morning.

I'm leaving on Sunday night for a week of training in Maryland. Time to pack the travel kit... :)

True, but here's a photo of what the inside of the new house will look like, Neal. We had to use proprietary high-tech special effects licensed through Sears and Roebuck on the photo to make the interior look this large. (I didn't want to be in the photo because the special effects were so good that I would look so much heavier. The struggle with vanity is real.) 1`.jpg

Nice picture, and a great review, even if the results aren't what you were hoping for. You did save me a few $$ as I was thinking of picking it up.

Being truly honest, the Stirling brush you just got rivals a Simpson Best Badger brush. While it doesn't have the cute little sticker, performance-wise it's on par with one. I'd be hard-pressed to tell the difference between the two in a blind lathering test.
Thater does make a wonderful brush. They're dense. They have tons of backbone. But, man...those tips are like being brushed by a cloud. A touch pricey, but not ridiculously out of reach. I see them pop up on BSTs quite often, sometimes at a bargain price.

I was thinking that uncle Charlie might sell a couple of his watches to help him out with that.

Not much to say about an outstanding shave. Let me talk to you for just a minute, to my mind I think 2018 has been an amazing year with the developement of so many great work of art razors.
Pretty much whatever you would want in a razor was made this year and in some cases better.

Sears and Roebuck - are they still in business? Actually I walked through Sears at the mall yesterday for the first time in, oh, years. Looks just like it did twenty years ago which, alas, helps explain why they have a problem. Nice house, though. You're right - it does look bigger from the outside!
