Your CT is in March, mine's December. If we have the meetup in June that's kind of in between. Joint CT scans? With the rest of the gang there for moral support?

    Razor - Muhle R41 (2 pc)
    Blade - [IMG] (2)
    Soap - Stirling Orange Chill
Brush - Stirling Two Band Synthetic
    Post - Alum

Continuing with the Muhle R41 tonight and picking up another new item I had forgotten about last night. When my last box from Stirling arrived they had included a small sample of Orange Chill soap. So, we'll fire that up with the Stirling two-band synthetic. I liked the scent just from smelling the sample when I opened it. I liked it enough that I have a full tub on the way before even shaving with it. This Rob guy down in Arkansas could give enabling lessons. I think he has us all beat.

I changed up just a bit tonight and went three full passes. That way I wasn't tempted to try and overdo the touch ups to get the shave finished. With my neck reacting last night I knew I needed to watch it. Adding a full pass takes a bit longer but makes me focus better and keep from roughing myself up. I tested the theory after the shave and the alum was much quieter tonight. Success. Really fine shave with a really nice soap and the result is a really nice BBS. Can't get any better than that.

With your mastery of the R41, you have conquered DE razors. The others that follow will be a walk in the park. Congrats, Terry!

Since I have to be up at the butt crack of dawn tomorrow, I am posting my sotd for tomorrow, tonight.
The soap is a sample of a product that a good friend across the street sent me.
This will be a great shave, even if I only get one cup of coffee.
Also, since the word is now out, I can't say it enough Andrew, I am blown away by the brush and the shave stick. That will be my Sunday video shave!
Y'all have a great day, carpe diem!

Thanks, Terry! I put some mineral oil down it last time. After a few more trips in the ultrasonic cleaner with dish soap and water, I think I may try a round of penetrating oil too this time.

Thanks, Perry! I need to do Fat Friday more often.

I didn’t shave until tonight before going to my Wife’s staff Christmas dinner. I settled on a nice decadent setup. It was a nice shave, but this razor needs a touch up.

    so true :rolleyes005:

We forgot to tell that the R41 is the gateway drug to the dark side. Other DE will feel inadequate so it is time to start with straights.

    Saturday Shave

My favorite knot is my Thäter 2 band so when I had a chance to pick up a 2nd in a smaller size I jumped on it. The seller was kind enough to include a tub of West Cost Shaving Fogeuere soap. As soon as I opened the tube I could smell the foguere, very nice. The performance surprised me, it was wet and slick, perfect for a straight razor shave.

    Irritation A+ Closeness A Smoothness A+ Sharpness A

Razor: Brian Brown 7/8 full hollow
    Strop: Mastro Livi
    Brush: Thäter 2 band
    Pre: Proraso
    Soap: WCS
AS: Fine American Blend AS, L’Occitane ASB
    Scent: YSL Rive Gauche
