I am now making the Suribachi Lather Bowl a permanent part of this shave set. It's just too effective. It allows super-conservative use of soap and maximizes lather with no effort.

Continuing with the Muhle R41 tonight and picking up another new item I had forgotten about last night. When my last box from Stirling arrived they had included a small sample of Orange Chill soap. So, we'll fire that up with the Stirling two-band synthetic. I liked the scent just from smelling the sample when I opened it. I liked it enough that I have a full tub on the way before even shaving with it. This Rob guy down in Arkansas could give enabling lessons. I think he has us all beat.

I changed up just a bit tonight and went three full passes. That way I wasn't tempted to try and overdo the touch ups to get the shave finished. With my neck reacting last night I knew I needed to watch it. Adding a full pass takes a bit longer but makes me focus better and keep from roughing myself up. I tested the theory after the shave and the alum was much quieter tonight. Success. Really fine shave with a really nice soap and the result is a really nice BBS. Can't get any better than that.

Never smelled Santa Maria Novella Aqua di Cuba before. Since you have good taste in fragrances, if/when I come across it, I will grab a sample.

SOTD (Evening): Quiet, relaxing shave tonight after a hectic week. Vintage Greaves stubtail; MWF, custom synthetic brush by Jim, and Musgo Real to finish. Have a blessed weekend, everyone!

 

Since I have to be up at the butt crack of dawn tomorrow, I am posting my planned SOTD tonight. This is a sample soap, and I probably should use it when I have more time, but I like to live dangerously!

My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Eureka Shaving Soap face lathered well with the Jayaruh #18 brush. I did two passes with the H. Böker 5/8 Razor and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Aqua Velva 5 in 1 AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

RazoRock Tuscan Oud today. 20 seconds to load the Elite Razor/WSP Silvertip brush. Easy, thick, slick, lather. Personna Med Prep still in the Gillette NEW Short Comb. Excellent smooth, close, shave. I finished with RazoRock Tuscan Oud aftershave.
