Doug, I haven’t tried every new razor but i would nominate the Karve as a real contender for the razor of the year. The build quality rivals that of my Wolfman at a fantastic price point. The Karve reminds me of the Wolfman when it first came on the market. It was less expensive than the ATT stainless razors with a better build quality.

3 shaves and my 30DF is mission complete. :happy088:
Another great 3x3 shave with the Muhle R41. A small pimple on the side tried to appear on the head shave, no match for a R41 and feather blade, splash of water, gone! Otherwise all went well.
I'm nice and smooth, clean and ready for the day.
    I like!
It's a rainy day outside, but sunny in the den!
    :)
    All
    Enjoy

Excellent shave Terry. I bet you’ll find it easier to use less aggressive razors now.

Lavender Planet is a very nice straight lavender scent. Another straightforward lavender scent I would recommend is B&M Reserve Lavender.

    Saponificio Varesino Felce Aromatica 4.0~~Morris & Fordran Beehive 2~~1938 Gillette Senator~~Personna 74~~Brut
I have decided to do a two-day comparison of the SV Beta 4.0 and 4.3 soap bases.
Today's commentary will be simply a short recap.

Tomorrow, I will go into more detail.
Used the same set up as I did Thursday, with the one exception, I made the second and third passes with my 2011 R41.

I did bloom the soap today. Loaded heavily with the M&F Beehive.
Face-lathered and was generous with the water.
Here is a comparison of the two soaps:
    4.3 on the left.
    IMG_8784.jpeg
There is, what I would describe as a significant difference between the two bases.
Unfortunately, I can't compare the ingredient list. Maybe there is someone reading that has a puck of the 4.0
    and can post it.
Slickness was better with the 4.0
Really good with the Gillette and much better than yesterday with the R41.
Keeping in mind that there is always more blade drag with the Mühle.
Post-shave still left me with that taut feeling, but it didn't feel quite as dry.
It's tough to do scent comparisons, seeing as these two soaps are completely different.
    I will say this.
I prefer a manufacturer which makes their own scents, rather than tries to copy a classic.
The Felce (Fern/Fougère) is potent and quite ethereal.

It paired wonderfully with my classic Brut.
I am still a "tallow guy", but if I had to choose between the 4.0 and the 4.3 soaps bases,
so far, the 4.0 is, to my skin, superior.
    More tomorrow.

I don't own a Karve but based on reviews I would have to agree.

I own two new releases for this year, the Blackland Dart and Vector. I couldn't pick a favorite between the two. They each offer their own shave experience. I find the Dart to be a smooth enjoyable razor with a a bit of a learning curve. Build is up there as far as fit but even the polished version leaves something to be desired in the finish with visible machine marks.
The Vector is is a fun maneuverable razor with a shallow learning curve. Three pass BBS with silent alum by the second shave. Fit and finish is impeccable. I'm anxious to see the polished version. YMMV
