December 2018 30 Day Rule/Focux Pix & Discussion

Thanks a lot!
Somtimes hard to report every day, but I try hard to do it, so far, so good.
When the 30DF is over, not sure I'll keep the reporting, but I shave every day by default. I've shaved ever day for years, decades, seems like eons.
That won't change, probably why wet shaving suits me so well, and makes me feel so nice afterwards.
Glad I found out about it!

Beautiful shave, Clint. The Karve really does have some beautiful detailing, and your photos always show it well. It has one of the most beautiful handles of any modern razor I've seen. You've got the Oleo soap on the run, my friend. That's a very well defined doughnut. You must load your brush with great precision.

I'm glad you took the whole day off, and I hope Asha's trip home is uneventful.

 

Thank you Charlie. I’m very happy with my purchase of the Karve razor. They are planning to release a stainless steel version. If it is released I will certainly get one as well.

Today's report on yesterdays shave - another 6 out of 7 days for a great week. With the assorted afflictions running through my household my day was full. Ended up sleeping in my recliner because my bed was full of other people. Fortunately being Saturday, the kids are feeling great! Daughter is on the mend, too. Hoping I missed the stomach flu. The shave? Rather than try to locate the inspiration, I'll credit whoever it was that suggested adding a touch of menthol to my software. Much better service from glycerin preshave soap than PS oil, and cooling to boot. Outstanding lather production from the heated sandalwood soap and the ole boar brush just keeps getting better. No complaints for the blade or 'Crat going three passes for a smooth, error free reduction. Splashed on Osage Rub since Proraso Green AS is light on menthol, and the Red before it had fully dried. interesting combination of scents. It's now half a day since my shave and I'm contemplating what the next weeks gear will be.

Nice shave, Rick. Lots of Proraso and Aristocrat love in your shaves this month! I'm glad you and the girls are feeling better.

 

Guess I dodged a bullet when I sent that #195 you way Neal. Glad you are enjoying it and seeing a Fay Boy as your number one razor reinforces the 30 DC Spirit. I still recall doing a side by side shave with my E-4 & yours. They looked identical, shaved the same best ever year and quarter of any Gillette Adjustable, and when I rinsed them off couldn't remember which was which. That tub of Red Proraso you sent my way has been getting it's game time since I matched it with the AS.

This morning's shave before my son and I left to get a hair cut. It's been a good day, but a little busy around the house. Finally, we have some down time before my daughter and I go to a youth group Christmas party this evening. The Kiritimati was terrific again this morning. I hope everyone is having a great day!

Well, the rain held off for the most part. We wore cheap ponchos nonetheless. Kids had a good time and the parade went well.

Wilson loves to drive!

The equipment dads and Wilson pulled up the rear of the band.


And, we made it! Wilson and me at the finish line.


He had a blast. I'm glad it went fine and we made it through without issue. Now the break can truly begin!

 

hello folks, just a nice , leisurely saturday morning shave,proraso white preshave as usual, new to me just arrived 58 tv flaretip, nacet blade,eveready 150 brush ,and fine platinum shave soap..,lovely 2 pass combo shave, no drama.,dfs.finished up with the platinum splash.. lovely stuff..i think thats 5 shaves since last sunday..will continue with the almost daily routine.,thanks @RyX . have a great day everyone.. gary
