Here it is, a repeat of Friday's shave, albeit with the SV 4.0 soap.
In deference to Fuzzy @wchnu I did NOT bloom the soap.

I did soak the brush and did a fairly heavy load before moving to my Aesop bowl.
Here is what I ended up with:
    IMG_8789.jpeg
The lather was still fluffier than one can expect to get with a tallow based soap, however, there were far fewer
air bubbles and the shine is readily apparent.
I painted the lather on and with the same Personna 74 in my '11 R41 began the shave.
Significant slickness difference compared to the Colonia 4.3 base.
The R41 didn't drag at all.
3 passes for a very smooth shave.
Still not my favorite post-shave feel, however, far less drying than the Colonia.
I have to conclude that the Colonia 4.3 is NOT the same soap base as the rest of the SV 4.3 line of soaps.
This is not the first time that I have been disappointed with Asylum Shave Works products.
I do have their Old Virginia soap/AS and that is a COMPLETELY different animal.
A bit rushed today, SWMBO chose the Creed and were off to my son's church.
It's his 27th Birthday and he is singing in the choir.
Back to our home later for his choice of birthday meal: Chicken Wings!
This was a pretty funny Zits in today's paper:

I got a wonderful 3x3 shave this morning. No issues, very smooth and close. If I dare, this is as close as a BBS shave I've ever had. The #1 shave of this 30DF, maybe of all time.

I just set my stuff into the sink and took a picture this morning. After I uploaded it I noticed that I did not clean my razor before the picture, I kinda knew that, Duh! I clean the razor every time I use it or else it gets the white scum on it like you see there. Only one use is what you see, not sure how some just rinse off the razor and hang it up, must be nice to be able to do that. If I did that it would take a hammer and chisel to clean it after a week. I don't know if using a tooth brush and Dawn dish soap on your razors every time you use it ruines the finish. See that's what I need to do, so I guess I'll find out.
    Anyway...
    Enjoy your Sunday!!

    December 16 SOTD:

    Razor: Gillette Sheraton
    Blade: Polsilver
    Brush: Ever-Ready 400
    Lather: MdC
    Aftershave: Chatillon Lux Unconditional Surrender
    Additional Care:
    Stirling Unscented PSB

A nice Decadent December Sunday morning shave. I haven't used MdC in a while, and it always amazes me at how little it takes to build a quality lather. I topped it off with one of my favorite AS. CL makes the best skin feel AS out there, IMO. It was a great start to my day. We are off to church, and I hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning gentlemen. It's a wonderful time of year! Still working on the HTGAM Gondolier that my son @michaelAD gave me years ago. Maybe another dozen or so shaves left. Great smelling stuff! Occam's Razor Enhanced Nano, despite its skeleton-like appearance, is light weight, smooth and efficient. It is more so with the Schick Proline blades. I used the 2 dot head (mid aggressive) for two passes+ cleanup. The result...de baby is in the building.;) A happy and blessed Sunday to everyone.
