I AM glad you like the handle and John chose a great knot. I guess the silver lining is we get to try some blades we might not have tried yet.

 

The knot is just in there with silicone. It should come out, but will require some persuasion.

Has your wife been before? It's a big, crazy experience. So much to see and do with clinics and exhibits. My wife tags along and goes shopping and we meet up with various director friends for dinner each night. Great times!

I don’t know if this was meant as a general question, so please don’t take this as insulting if I answer it that way. Hopefully if you already know all of what I’m about to say, someone will learn something anyway. Badger hair can be harvested from different parts of the badger. I’m not an expert on what hair is what, but the two band is hair harvested from an area where the hair is thicker, and it ends up being dark at the bottom and light at the tip, making two distinct color bands in the brush. It is stiffer and scrubbier and often times softer than other hair on the badger. Three band tends to be light at the bottom dark in the middle and light at the top, making three distinct color bands in the brush. Those hairs are thinner have less backbone and less scrub. I tend to favor two band over three band by a wide margin. Others have the opposite opinion. It’s a personal preference.

Lemme guess... you love the smell of dumpster fire in the morning...

It was a question to everyone in general, so thank you for your answer, Randy. I was also wondering specifically about Thater brushes, as it seems that brush manufacturers tend to be very liberal with how they grade hair, at least when compared to each other.
