Thank you, Perry! I only have a small sample of it that Jared sent with a bunch of others. I really do like the scent, but it's highly unlikely that I'd order a full tub for just a few shaves each year. I will enjoy what's left of the sample though!

Great setup, Patrick! There's nothing wrong with plain and simple. That setup could provide a lifetime of stellar shaves.

For all their startup problems, Rockwell ended up with a fine product.

    Nice score Danny!

Thank you Bruce, that is very true.

Great score, Danny! Even that SuperSpeed looks like it's in great shape under the grime - a soak in Dawn dishwater followed by a scrub with a toothbrush and it might be good as new. (Always remember to borrow someone else's toothbrush rather than using your own ;).)

Wow! What a difference from the meet up Charlie. The work you've done on your weight is obvious! But, with a bride that pretty I'd be doing everything I could to hang onto her too! Great pic of you both. Merry Christmas!

You can never have enough shaving gear when you're away for a week.

That does indeed appear to be a '47 SS. Nice find on all three of those! Depending on the plate loss on that superspeed you might want to consider a replate on it. I can refer you to the guy who did my '47.

Sunday night December 16 - repeating yesterday

    Gillette Flare-Tip SuperSpeed C4 (1957) / vintage Wilkinson Sword (1)
    Simpsons CH2 Chubby Synthetic Bristles
    Fendrihan Lavender Sandalwood soap sample
    Alum and Lucky Tiger

    IMG_20181215_170336.jpg
I just repeated yesterday's setup tonight, including the photo. The difference was, instead of yesterday's hurried and slapdash single pass, tonight I did a full three passes. Which is actually one more than I normally do. The result was slightly warm alum but a dolphin smooth face. Only a tiny patch of sandpaper under my jaw kept me from claiming a full-blown BBS :(.

And it appears this razor works just as well as almost every other vintage Gillette I have ever tried.

In the meantime, the B2 Blue Tip I used on Friday was still slightly gummy and hard to open. It spent the weekend taking trips in the ultrasonic cleaner with hot Dawn water and then was left with penetrating oil (RustBuster) in the mechanism, as suggested by @Terry. It seems to have loosened up considerably. I think I will repeat with it tomorrow and see if I get a better shave from it now.

    DECADENT DECEMBER!!!

Well, I'm going to be decadently unshaven for a day. Two reasons. Number one, talk about a wild and wooly ride on the GrubHub train tonight. Between traffic, the number of orders and the places a few of those orders were delivered to, I was constantly moving and on my toes. Number two - I would prefer to have a two day beard before using my next choice of razors. More on that tomorrow! Busy day here I see but we like it like that! Have a fantastic Monday everyone!!

Apparently vinegar frees up stuff stuck like that and will break rust also.

Good to know. If more is needed, I will use that next.

While I was busy sleeping and then going to work I fell behind more than 220 posts! Sorry guys no time to keep up.

Decadence continues but today without a photo. The (in)famous 2011 R41 with Feather blade, the razor as always delivered a very nice shave.

    DECember delayed broadcast

    RazoRock Lime Burst SS
    Surrey/VDH boar brush
    Suribachi bowl scuttle
    Ming Shi 2000s on five
    Personna Blue - 8th use
    Pinaud Citrus Musk AS-EdC
SOTD 12162018.gif Got my shave in while the grandkids were off visiting with Saint Nick. Then a little TV binge of Stranger Things on Netflix. Finally settled everyone down so I could get to the Command Center. This cool weather had me heating water again. I'm enjoying warm lather lately. A little blooming, loaded, wanted more decadent so I loaded more. Glossy supergoop! Choose to up the adjustable by half a notch and got an uneventful three pass with usual touchups. The blade shows no sign of dulling so I'll run it 'til it quits. Splash of Pinaud to finish the DFS almost five hours ago and I'm still catching the occasional hint of lime.
    Good Shaves Y'all!
