    rollsshaver Peace be with you

Good day of spending money. I found two Gillette Tuckaways at an antique store. One gold, one silver. Both with the little cases and matcging blade holderes. Paid $20 for them both. Also got four more tubs of TBS cream, so let me know if Shep does not have enough for everyone. I also picked up four things of Armani Code body wash from the local Macy's stores.

I will not be on again until the morning. Jason and his wife want me over for dinner.

thought I found something nice today Cal. A 1912 Ever Ready with a large handle for $5. I picked it up to examine it and found that the base where the handle screws in was bent, so the head was bent a little.

    hmmm....Ever Ready Slant?

Made the rounds of a few antiques dealers in Castle Shannon and Canonsburg, PA. Didn't find much for razors. A couple places had gold ball-end Techs. A couple others had Rolls. One had a GEM in a red plastic case with blade dispenser looking practically new. Passed on it all as I was hunting for Adjustables or a red tip.

Of note however was the Antique Mall in Canonsburg. One of the deallers has a display case full (and I mean FULL) of Playboys going back to the 60s and beyond. :happy088

I picked up about 4 boxes of vintage playboys at an auction a few years back. I think they were 70's vintage, good stuff.

OUCH is more like it probably. I wounder how it got bent those things are built like tanks... I have several.

Any ideal what model it was? The case was just long enough for the razor then then blades were over the handle or was it a long case where the blades are actually outside the case over the head of the razor?

I'm not sure. The blades were in the upper right corner of the case, and the handle of the razor was a vanilla-white plastic. The razor was positioned in the case with the head on the left.

Thanks Shawn. I told her I was keeping a couple and the rest was for friends. She didn't care. Looked happy to be rid of it.

Shave #4 w/ a 7'O black tonight. It went pretty well. Not a stellar shave but a doable one. If I ever decide to purchase these blades I will go 3 shaves per blade, and that makes me very happy. That was my goal from the beginning. Next up the Astras. Gotta be honest though, I'm certain Rolls stropping method helped extend blade life.

Rolls you should really post a tutorial over in the razor/blades sections. I'm betting most guys will poo poo it at first, but w/ a little coaxing we might get a few converts. I'm sold on it. Thanks much.

I haven't found Rolls' stropping method to be of any help to me.
