The Haul: December 2018

I have a Slim Adjustable that I am trying to clean up and it has what appears to be light calcium build up around the area above the adjuster ring and on the underside of the base plate. I have the head soaking in CLR. Any ideas on how long to let it soak or any other better ideas? It is a nice razor and has cleaned up well but this is bugging me. Thanks for any suggestions.

 

I have a ultra sonic cleaner. It’s worth the investment from harbor freight. Especially when they have the 25% coupon. But what I used to do is put it in a Pyrex or other type container and drizzle dish soap on it. Then, in another container microwave water for about 7 minutes which is close to boiling. Or you can boil water and pour it over the razor and let it soak for a couple of hours.

 

I have put it in almost boiling water several times but have not let it soak for couple of hours. I probably let it soak off and on for about 45 minutes. The soap crude cleaned up great but I have a little bit of what appears to be calcium.

 

If it’s really stubborn try multiple times and then use scrubbing bubbles afterwards.

This is not going to clean up. I brought the razor to work this morning and looked at it under a magnifing lens. The nickel finish is etched/pitted. I appreciate everyone's input on trying to help but it is still a good razor.

 

I got a W3 Super Speed in today. It cleaned up real nice. When I finish the 30DC I will give it a test run. I just like the aluminum handle and black tip.

Bought it just so I could say I've owned and shaved with one and the price was right.

 

Those are mild razors closer to a blue tip than a standard flare tip or 40s style super speed.

 

One of those you buy it when you see it razors since you may not see one come up sale again anytime soon. I have no idea the manufacturer but the styling and adjustment is not something you see on other razors.

If I don't wind up liking the way it shaves, I'll put you on the short list of who I would resell it to. Certain razors I won't resell except to people who understand and appreciate razors. You already know what I paid. I have no idea if this is over priced or not but it really has a look that stands out from other razors. I need to research out and see if this really is a Cooper as the seller stated.

 

I couldn’t see anything on the razor stating the cooper brand. But I like the look.
