Trying to weed out soaps from my den, so I’m rotating through soaps I haven’t used in a while to see if they are worthy of the cut. Chiseled Face Cinnawood Boroka, while not an “elite” soap, still has a freaking awesome scent that is hard to describe. It is going nowhere, and fit in just fine with the Decadent December theme.

 

Very nice, looking forward to you joining the Darkside.

Good morning!

Terrific shave to start the day! The usual three pass, BBS result.

The GD Mallard is another top notch soap. Same level of slickness as yesterday's tallow, duck fat soap. Very nice scent. I get the tea with some sweetness and my nose picks up cinnamon. Lovely combination.

A very nice, quick two pass shave this. A very nice way to start my last full day of work this year. The Speick was great as always, and I feel a bit like Indiana Jones after using some Special Reserve. I hope everyone has a great day!

So you've seen our photo from the 2018 meetup, then? That's @NCoxSTL on the left. I'm glad he's a daily shaver. He has a crazy...er...uh...heavy...5 o'clock shadow

 

I don't know how you do it, Neal, but you got a GQ shave using that no-name set up. I'm glad your Bride made it home safely.

 

Day 3: A sense of ennui has set in at base camp and I have succumbed to the temptation of the hotel soap. I fear that I am out of practice having with random non-shaving soaps as my lather quickly dissipated but not without leaving a decent enough slickness. I have used this Neutragena "French Milled" soap successfully in the past, however. What I do not recall is the scent making me sneeze so much. :-(

On the hardware side of things, I returned to the New SC and the Gillette Wilkie, now on its third shave. I can now say, for certain, what happened but the shave was actually more comfortable than the one on Sunday night with this same combo.

Meanwhile, the meager food stocks that I laid in on my arrival are now largely depleted. I note that the German Lidl company has set up a trading post near my camp. I plan to journey there and replenish my stocks. Perhaps they will have some interesting shaving-related items...

 

@Paul76 thinks he's raising the bar on MAYhem. Now that fishing season is over, @NCoxSTL is secretly searching for a good deal on an outboard motor. I'm not sure what to expect, but I hope he doesn't mistake Clubman for two-cycle oil and ruin a perfectly good Evinrude.

Went with neglected Karve today and was rewarded with near perfect shave. Nuavia Verde with an assist from WW Spring Forth started a mid-week green routine. Nuavia soaps provide some great aroma therapy. Cue up "I'm in heaven". After some moisturizing Gold Bond Green and a healthy splash of Fine Green Vetiver I am as smooth as a Killer Whale with no barnacles. Today's finale, a spritz of Pino and I'm refreshed and ready to go. Our daughter will be arriving today with her husband and our granddaughter for the Christmas holidays. Happy Wednesday!
