To tell you the truth I’m still not sure if I could bring myself to use it without a medical staff nearby.

    Thanks Randy.

On the multi-quote, I was inspired by a few of you Chatty Cathy's here. Whoops, did I just unleash another old-timey term? :D

It goes without saying that both you and I have @Paul Turner's back. Won't he be surprised when he receives the Mr. Pig outfit we're sending him? I hope he doesn't decide to hog all the chicks in Aisle 12.

Thanks also for all the soap reviews you've completed. This will be helpful when I finally decide to start purposefully restocking.

I hope work is starting to settle down for you, Randy.

Thursday evening December 20 - Teching onward

Gillette Tech NDC / vintage Wilkinson Sword (5?)
    Simpsons CH2 Chubby Synthetic Bristles
    Fendrihan Lavender Sandalwood soap sample
Alum and TSD Vanilla milk aftershave

    IMG_20181220_180322.jpg
Today's Tech is another with no date code. It's brass with an unfluted ball end handle, the Gillette logo frosted onto the topcap, and the stamp inside the base plate says "Pat.Nos. On Package" spelling the word "package" in full. Maybe late 1940s or early 1950s?

Shave was the usual no-fuss Tech experience. Two passes to a DFS, no heat from the alum. Since I don't have either Clubman or The Veg in my arsenal, I used Vanilla because it also starts with a V...

    Pinaud Lime Sec AS/EdC
SOTD 12202018.gif Another day, another shave! I'm liking this every day thing. Sticking with a soap for a time also makes for easier loading especially when going for Decadent Lathers. Used my cypress barber's brush by Jim @Jayaruh with a great synthetic knot. When he and I were discussing building this brush I didn't know much about synth knots. He had several others but suggested this one. He was correct. Not as soft tips as a Tuxedo, and slightly stiffer of bristle. It's a great first knot for newbies. Warm lather made in the makeshift scuttle suits the current temps - a chilly 55 degrees. When I loaded this blade I had no intention of doing a marathon but it keeps on working. Three passes, a little less cleanup that days gone by, DFS & no blood. Another splash of the Pinaud in a recycled hot sauce bottle.
    Good Shaves Y'all!

Considering how well you tamed that r41, a Fatip ought to be easy peasy. The good news is if you don't like it, Danny @Hembree will be paying attention soon. Investment recovery on an inexpensive razor happens.

I read about a woman that bought her husband a "Get Better Soon" card. He's wasn't sick. She just thought he should get better.
    Soon.

    Sometimes change is good.

I googled your address and there's a Sallys beauty not too far away. Sadly ours doesn't carry the Veg.

I love that brush too Rick . Very nice

Thank you Patrick! If Neal @NCoxSTL doesn't beat you to it, item #29 on the up coming TSD Raffle is a choice of a JR brush. Check out #131 on this page. It's slightly shorter, but cut from the same hunk of Cypress & identical knot.

    Good evening everyone.
Used my 1905 Gillette again this morning.

With Sirling soap and another Feather blade. Never would have thought such a razor could do such a great job.
    Amazing, simply amazing!
3 pass face and a 3 pass head shave.
Think it's gonna be a few days before I put this away.

Today was another fast shave since Kady played hockey early tonight. I love this soap from Randy, fresh and leaves a cool feeling on the skin. The E2 wiped away hair at rapid speed and left me smooth. The Polo Black just delivered what I was looking for. Have a great evening gents.

If you still have any of those knives I would love to see pics, i had heard that they made them but I have never seen a w&b knife. The scales are the french ivory. A fancy way to say celluloid, and these ones are in great shape. The bolsters are still very solid, I was worried that I would end up losening them when I repinned it after restoring the blade.

So shave one with the straight. I felt like it was more tugging/pulling. I did 35 on the linen and 45 on the leather. I’m not sure how off I am I tried more pressure, less pressure and different angles while shaving.

Paul, I wish I had some of my Dad's old W&B's, but I don't. I have a few modern knives, and I'll plan to post photos in the next few days.

If you like the old traditional knife patterns, check out Great Eastern Cutlery. Their knives are absolutely gorgeous. My (and my Dad's) favorite pattern is the Barlow, and I'm fortunate to have a couple of special factory order Barlows. I'll get some snaps of those as well. Everytime I look at the GEC website, I see more knives that I want.

Bruce, your Bride is simply concerned about possible damage to the house if you wear the Stag. This stuff is modern-day Hai Karate.

It's a proven fact, Mr. Scraper, that there's more to Stag than just gasoline scent. Got some good leather in it, too. Chuck Norris' name keeps getting mentioned in the descriptions. Course there's a lot more to Norris than unleaded.
