I'm allowed to finish the one and only bottle of Clubman I purchased...and then no more according to my Bride. Her favorite aftershave scent, by far, is Blood on Steel.

Thanks, Gary. I agree. I tossed it into my cart at the last minute, but it turned out to be a great choice.

Proven? What’s proven? That someone soaked some leather in gasoline and bottled it?
Take a brand new car with a leather interior. Pour about a tablespoon of gas on the carpet and close the car up. What do you think anyone who opens the door is going to smell? Probably not the leather.
While folks might mention Chuck Norris in the scent description, I’d bet a paycheck he wouldn’t wear Midnight Stag.
Ok, there’s more to the scent than just gas. After drying down, there’s a bit of motor oil and Hoppes #9. None of which are going to attract the ladies at Piggly Wiggly. :D

This gent got me hooked on the GEC Barlow...it looks even better in hand.

Here's one on my wish list, John, from another manufacturer.

Yes it was honed before I got it. I did one shave with it before I put it on the strop. but i believe technique is my culprit

I will give that a shot today

Interesting. You’d think that cedarwood lavender would be more of a “crowd pleaser” scent.

I'll keep my fingers crossed, and hope i get picked 2nd this time .I have 2 JR brushes now but since I'm giving away one of my other brushes to my nephew , there's an empty spot in the brush rack. Seen 100 Bic yellow de blades on there too, but I just purchased a multi pack of Russian steel . last week . Way too many good prizes that I want this yr.

The Stirling Noir soap that I ordered was calling for a new brush. I love the look of the classic Rubberset 400 but the Razorock 400 is more in my price range. I also had to throw the "What the Puck" three pack special in as well.

I remember having a cheaper Barlow when I was a boy. As a boy if you had a Barlow you had something. Nice looking knives.

One caveat about the First Canadian Maximo Gomez, Charlie- There are new owners now, and I haven’t ordered a tub since the switch. If they kept the name of the scent, I’m assuming it is the same. It is a wonderful tobacco and citrus scent. I bought an additional tub of it from the old label when I thought they were packing it in.
One additional point- you mentioned liking tallow-based soaps. The Felce Aromatica is not tallow based.

I didn’t know Taylor’s Eye Witness made folders. I have someTaylor’s Eye Witness kitchen knives. They are just ok. They take a really sharp edge, but dull quite quickly.

Thanks Jason. I appreciate the additional information on the First Canadian soap. Thanks also for information on Felce Aromatica. I'm not opposed to vegan soaps, MdC or Soap Commander for example, but I generally prefer tallow soaps.

I'm amazed at all the different steels being used in modern knives. Some of the super steels will hold an edge for quite a long time. I'm not sure what steel Taylor's Eye Witness uses for their knives. I'm just drawn to the looks of them. I use my Spyderco and Swiss Army knives for everyday carry. The Spyderco's hold an edge much longer than the Swiss Army, but the Swiss Army has a few handy tools.
