I was unable to positively identify the exact cause to why (early on) I felt tugging on the first pass, then things seem to be smooth up on subsequent passes. I don't experience the same now and I've been on straights daily and almost exclusively since August.

I have not changed my lathering.
I probably get away with less stretching now than earlier. I am definitely better at making 'shave faces'.
I am more deliberate with my technique.
I have added 'pasted balsa' stropping to my razor maintenance.
I am better with my daily stropping and added a 3x18 softer leather strop.

When I do pick up a SE or DE my shaves are noticeably better than before straights. If I recall correctly, I read you post one time I that the correct setting to use on a Fatboy was 9. I could not understand it then, but do now. I have one adjustable, when it comes out, it is wide open.

It has been a rewarding experience for me to go through. I would encourage others with the time and resources to give it a try.

With it being close to the Holidays I'd like to thank you and all the others who have encouraged and coached me on this journey which began just about 1 year ago.

Friday night I need a quick social shave and went with my PRC Chimera for a quick 2 pass clean up.



Saturday shave I pulled out this big 8/8 full hollow Friodur. I had problems with a big full hollow flexing in the past put this razor does not flex at all.
