Derek is definitely a pleasure to deal with. He is even doing a rough take on a handle to make sure we are on the same page. I found Bob Quinn good to deal with also.

    L’Occitane ASB

First time using a WK soap. I was very impressed, especially with the post shave feel. The smell does have an outdoor wet woodsy scent. Reminds me of camping. Upon recommendation, I reapplied the lather to have it sit on my face while cleaning up the sink area. I also found the L’Occitane to be a good complement to the Tempest. Both contain an essence of birch tar and the ASB adds just a bit of freshness.

Emerson Lake and Palmer ~ Deluxe Edition, 1970

When my friend played Emerson Lake&Palmer's Welcome Back My Friends, I very quickly realized that music had taken a turn away from what I had grown up with. I say "grown up with", as I was only 13 then, and had enjoyed Beatles, Beach Boys, Herman's Hermits, Lovin Spoonful-groups like that...as a "kid".

I was fortunate to have parents that "grew up" in that same time period. They were in New England then and were able to see some of the great bands. Lucky for me, I remember looking through all of their albums and being captivated.

    Deodorant - Jason "Forest Fresh"
    Fragrance - Bijan for men

I was unable to decide what to shave with and wear yesterday. I slept in until 10am and I will go with Bijan for men and my newly acquired Trumpers "Wild Fern" soap. Hopefully this newest experiment will become a "final" bath/shave set? I'll find out soon enough.

***EDIT - 2 days growth and 4th shave on the blade was tugging a bit. Though I got through 2-passes + a cleanup with no nicks, cuts or irritation. Perfect shave. I am beginning to find out that it's true that this razor needs the blade changed after very small numbers of shaves. I was able to get 6 shaves on the last blade before noticing some dropoff on the 7th shave. This second blade I got to the 4th shave and noticed it had a tough time with 2-days of growth. In the future I will be only doing 3-shaves with a blade in this razor then change it. And if I'm attacking 2+ days of growth I will put in a fresh blade.

Even though this razor churns through blades at a ridiculous shave number, it remains the easiest to use and least likely to irritate razor in my collection. If you just let the pivot find its own angle it turns in a perfect shave. The shave is perhaps 'too' easy. I like shaving with different razors and having an occasional challenge. Even when the blade wasn't 100%, this shave didn't go off the rails like happens with other razors. Zero irritation and BBS results despite a tad bit of tugging. So, I came away happy.
