Prep: Cold water and Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap
    Blade: Schick Proline AC
    Razor: RazoRock Black Hawk
    Brush: Artisan badger
    Soap: Stirling Ozark Mountain
Post: Witch hazel, Stirling Ozark Mountain aftershave

Wonderful shave with this combination. Love the scent and the performance is outstanding. The Black Hawk is a great razor for multiple days' growth. Great shave all the way around.

    Enjoy your day!

Never tried the modern Williams, Perry. My intuition says that the Williams is better, because there are shavers that like it and can get a good lather. I defy anyone to be able to make a "good" lather from the Dominica. Guy @ram57 has used it. Perhaps he has the secret to this soap.

Well, at least until @Linuxguile shows you how to overclock the razor.

Remember, shavettes in January! After mastering them, you can shave with any overclocked razor you choose. ;)

Took some time this morning for a relaxing shave before the chaos starts. 3 passes to near perfection, but it is time for this blade to be binned- not sure how many days are on it exactly, but minimum 4 and probably more. Love the scent and performance of this soap and splash. Some have said that they don’t enjoy the Reserve base, but I think to really get it where it needs to be it needs to be bowl-lathered. I say that because I just don’t think you can get enough water to it solely on the face, depending on your brush, it would be dripping and running everywhere.
Apart from the usual Christmas festivities, it is also my son’s 12th birthday today. My inlaws are coming in a few hours and my mom will be coming to dinner as well. SWMBO isn’t really able to help out much yet, so I am trying to stay on top of it. Everything is good and it is great to have family over for a few days, but it was a much needed relaxing shave this morning.
    Have a great day all!

Sounds like a great trip, Perry! You showed uncommon restraint at Merz’s for sure.
My wife and I make good food a priority when we travel as well, and some of the best memories of trips are the various restaurants.

Nice shave, Jason! I don't know much about B&M soaps. I've only used the Bay Rum, and there was something about the scent that I didn't like. I didn't keep it long enough to dial in the lather. I do have some B&M scents on the radar - Leviathan, Seville, and Cologne Russe. Do I also need to pay attention to the soap base being used? I exclusively face lather, and a top soap for me has to have a nice yogurty, slick lather.

Happy Birthday to your son! I'm glad the your Bride is recovering and is able to enjoy all the family time with everyone today. What are you cooking?
