Adoption is the way to do it, Charlie. And thank you for the Christmas wish-I had a pleasant time at my sister's. My nephew was there, as was her brother-in-law. My sister and her husband have two cats...well, three but the third isn't allowed in their house, due to "anger mgmt." issues. That's the cat I'll be having here with me when it gets real cold. She likes the heat here. :).

    NCoxSTL AAACK!

We're always looking at a razor. I've been going back through the first several months of the 30DC and seeing razors I wanted to try back then and never got to. So yeah. I have a list started among my notes on the thread. Talk about enabling. This is enabling from the past!

Razor - Feather DX Artist Club (pain stick)
    Blade - artist-club-small-professional-blades.jpg (1)
    Soap - Stirling Ozark Mountain
Brush - Stirling Two Band Synthetic
    Post - Alum

Christmas night seems like the right night to try out a new razor for the first time. Well, new to me anyway. I acquired a Feather DX pain stick from @Keithmax a few weeks back and need to give it a try. This is the original Feather pain stick with the standard head on it, instead of the lipped version of the SS. The CJB was modeled after the DX. The DX is the more expensive version of the Feather AC and I can say from its looks and feel in the hand I can honestly see why. The SS is a very fine razor, but it doesn't have the lines nor the exact feel of the DX on first examination.

Loaded a Feather Pro, lather courtesy of Stirling soap and brush. The Ozark Mountain scent seemed to be right for the day. I did two full passes and have to say I like the feel of the DX. Weight is good, balance is good and it was easy to maneuver. Better than the SS? Well, we'll have to see. Better than the CJB? Again, we'll see. I have a stack of trials and comparisons waiting for me in January and plan to do some head to head comparisons of the DX and the other two. I'll also include the Kai Captain in the comparisons, even though it's not related.

Looks like everyone had a pretty good Christmas! We have a week left before the New Year and a new month begins. More on that later. For now - enjoy the remainder of the holiday!

    Dec 26th shave

The Cobra classic was up again as I need a quick shave. Since I finished off the last puck for the year I will try out several new ones and past fails. Todays B&M performed great in NY where I bought it but failed in Seoul. So today I went my an Omega Pro boar in a handle by Jason. I loaded it like it owed me money and then did some extra loading because it was avoiding me. That did the trick and I got a nice lather. When a soap is difficult I find I get better success with one my boar brushes.

    Irritation A+ Closeness A

    Razor: Cobra Classic (Feather Pro)
    Brush:Handle by Jason Omega knot
    Soap: B&M
AS: Lucky Tiger AS, L’Occitane ASB
    Scent: Amouage Memoir Man

We're talking the trail of food that gets left in their wake. Though they do tend to share toys too.

Great pics Andrew, they look extra happy today, probably from vacuum attachments and Santa’s cookies.
Great looking shave Brian. And congrats on ditching your carts, and helping pass the enabling tradition along here at tsd. Your Christmas dinner looks great

I killed off a tub of Stirling Executive Man yesterday and forgot to mention it for Adam’s list.

When I found TSD two years ago in October, I just planned to lurk in a few forums and gather information on vintage razors to help me sell off my collection. And now I have more razors, plus fancy brushes and tons of soaps, creams and aftershave products. That Plan worked out real well, it did... Thanks mainly to people like you and the rest of the Crew!

But 12,300 posts? Waal, Ah reckon some of us lurkers just got more to say than others....
