So I started a new job driving seniors and persons with disabilities today and figuring out my shaving routine might take a while.
I have to BE at work at 5:20am, so it's all I can do to get up...shower...get a cuppa joe in my gullet and...hopefully, have a morning
    constitutional :scared003: before leaving.
Today, I shaved at about 3pm.
The Myrsol shave soap has some weird granules throughout:

I just sent an email to
Maggard's, requesting a replacement tub. This just isn't right.
Other than that, the soap has a lovely, citrusy scent; is pretty slick and leaves the face
(once the granules are removed) feeling comfortable.
The Personna 74 is starting to show some signs of age. Minimal tugging.

My guess it that I'll get about 2-3 more shaves with it.
Once again, the Fatip OC delivered. Not liking the handle...too slippery.
    3 Passes and a buffing touch-up.
Splashed some Myrsol AS on for a clean finish.
Up and at 'em again tomorrow at 4:30am :shocked003:

Love the gear and how many model cars do you have? It always seems to be something different and interesting.

Something very funny happened today. My Stirling Noir soap and aftershave came into today. I cracked the lid and told my son to "smell this". The green container caught him off guard and he said "what is that Turtle Wax?" before he smelled it.
Come to think of it it does look like a tub of Turtle Wax. :happy088: Looking forward to trying it out after the 30dc is over. Any advise of how to lather with it would be gratefully appreciated. I am used to creams.

This was my planned shave for the evening yesterday but as it turned out I ended up too busy before dinner to shave and well after dinner I really didn’t feel like moving much, almost thought I was going to need another hole to expand the belt. So I woke up early this morning so I would have plenty of time to enjoy it. The shave went off without a hitch, good smooth three pass bbs and then off to work for the day. Jim - need an Official Cartel Ruling, but that sounds like a Rule. If you change any gear it becomes a Focus to see how the variable affects your results.
I've been doing a Focus of sorts - trying to get to daily shaves. Rather than 15 for the month I'm looking at 25 shaves. No problem maintaining a weekly soap and razor combo, though I've swapped in different AS and brushes here and there. If I can keep this up I'll still never be a Minimalist, but my Focus is improving.

Gary - correct me if I'm wrong - Shavettes are the non-required group plan? Have you tried them yet? Not as forgiving as a SR, but less maintenance.

That's a tough one Joseph. Fatip uses a weird thread pattern on their caps. If you have a r89 DE the caps work with a Fatip OC baseplate giving a more common thread and the option of different handles. I found it took away some of the aggression of the original Fatip set up. I have the Piccolo handle - much shorter but solid and heaviest of the 4 options.

Bloom it, wet your brush, shake out the excess and begin loading. Add water slowly up the near the handle and let the water drip through the brush. Often, with Stirling, I'll add a little water to the top of the soap. Load some more. Repeat the water addition process and load more. Take your time and load plenty and work LOTS of water in slowly. You'll be rewarded with shiny, slick, incredible lather.
