Thanks Joseph. I also have it's sibling 2011 Semogue Finest Bristle 2. Both bought NOS 3 years ago and each have just 15 shaves each on them. Guess I have too big of a brush rotation.

Mine is an American set... The razor itself is in pretty excellent condition and shaves really well. The case isn't in the absolute best condition but it works. Frankly, I need to use it more frequently. Why did you get rid of yours?

What do you think of the Core razor? I got the Core as a gift for my brother along with a few soaps, splashes and a scuttle. If I could do over my own personal purchase again, I would likely have bought the Core instead of the pricey stainless steel model. The Core looks identical but in polymer black. I think it looks sleeker and more cool with a matching black set of items like I got my brother.

i had an internal choice to make..i like my vintage gillettes for many reasons ,if i indulge in too many variants i get overwhelmed . injectors also remind me of my 30+ years using carts..i liked shaving with it but like de more ..i can t have one of every mustang produced ,goes beyond the plot for me..

    THURDAY'S SHAVE

    Razor - OneBlade Genesis
    Blade - [IMG] *Fresh Blade
Shave Brush - Everyman Jack Synthetic
Shave Soap - WSP Rustic Vegan Formula - Black Pepper
    Preshave Oil - Lather & Wood's "Unscented"
Aftershave Splash - The Shave Den Mentholated Witch Hazel (Unscented) *discontinued :(
Post-Shave Balm - Advanced Clinicals Anti-aging Hyaluronic Acid Cream
Fragrance - Lalique - Noir Premier Series - Fleur Universelle "1900" EDP

Going with the sure-thing shave tomorrow. Should be a great shave.

***EDIT - My neck's redness was largely gone by morning and my shave came out solid. I got my first weeper with the OneBlade. Not my fault either. I suppose it is NOT invincible after all! But still a fantastic shave. :)

Tallow+Steel Merchandise 7x (Soap and Aftershave)

Wow! This TS Merchandise 7x burns!!!

I felt the tingle all throughout the shave. However the aftershave splash lit my face and neck on fire (and not a mentholated type burn either). Turned my skin red too like a sunburn. Something in this formula doesn’t like me. That is unfortunate because the soap has great cushion and was very slick.

On a different note, the scent is very unique and spicy. With the secret ingredient “Merchandise 7x” added, I can see why Coca Cola has the extra burning sensation more so than Pepsi or RC Cola. My skin needs to settle down so good thing this was a night shave...

Lol I feel you... I have way too many razors at this point, mostly Vintage (DE, injectors, Gem / ER, Shake Sharp's, etc) mixed in with a few newer razors (ie Supply provision, Ikon SBS, Rex Ambassador, Razorock, etc). At some point I'll have to downsize some as well but if I have a son, it would be neat to pass some down the line...

Until then, I guess I'll have to be a little choosy on what else I pick up.

Razor - Short Handle Black Beauty (9)
    Blade - [IMG] (3)
    Soap - Tabac
    Brush - Jayaruh #230
    Post - Alum

Decided to back up and finish the three days with the short handle Super Adjustable. Sharp Star still in perfect shape and the JR230 and Tabac are a great combination. Took my time with the lather just to enjoy the process. The shave was three full passes of smooth enjoyment finishing with a BBS. Typical Gillette Adjustable at the wide open setting. Smooth and incredibly effective. I'll be sending this razor back north soon but I'm glad I got to use it a few times. Like all of its adjustable cousins it's a beauty and works flawlessly.

A day off tomorrow after one on today. This working every other day is tiring. Sheesh. Hope you all have a great night and a better Thursday!

I like the Core. For me not as close of a shave as the Genesis but pretty darn good, especially at the price point. This one is the V1 and I did also buy the V2 when it came out but I found the V1 to give me a better shave than V2 so gave the V2 to a friend in California. Like you I also like the change up of having a black version as a change of pace with different shave setups.

It may be short lived. I tried putting some cream on my neck to help it recover the last little bit and instead my skin went red with some kind of reaction. I've had two reactions lately. One from the vintage Old Spice tallow a few days ago and now it's flared up tonight. I guess my skin might need a few days of full recovery. I will try to do a very light shave with the smooth OneBlade, which has never caused irritation before and hope I can recover quick or possibly wait 2-3 days if the skin keeps flaring up.
