  1. I think for those uses you are going to need a few more bottles, or the 5 gallon size that was mentioned earlier by Danny.

  3. Stirling Bay Rum is very nice. I don't have the balm but I have samples of the soap, aftershave and witch hazel. I like what the addition of cinnamon does for the scent.

  4. Decadent December!!

    December 27, 2018

    Razor - 1947 Gillette Aristocrat
    Blade - voskhod-teflon-coated.jpg (1)
    Soap - Stirling Black Ice
    Brush - Jayaruh #46
    Post - Alum

Prior to my regular shave it was head shave time. I skipped the head shave last week so I had two weeks growth going. Time to grab a pain stick and take care of it. I used the CJB Greager with Feather Pro blade. Usual VDH Deluxe and VDH Boar for soap and brush. Very nice result and only one minor nick. I gave it a little too much angle coming over the back of my head and dug in just a tad. Other than that a fantastic shave.

As for the main event, Black Ice and the JR46 for the outstanding lather. The Aristocrat and Voskhod for the hardware and three passes got me just as smooth on my face as the CJB did on my head. Great shave tonight and I love shaving with the Black Ice scent. Makes me want to run out and buy licorice! Hope you have a fantastic Friday!

  9. Friday shave

Today's shave was problematic, I could not generate a good lather and the edge of this W&B was not where I want it to be. In the end the shave was not but left me a little frustrated. I guess I have become spoiled. I decided the vent my frustration by picking powerful stinky leather for the perfume today.

  10. Does this involve shipments of ice cream to the North Georgia foothills? I may not be cheap, but I can be bribed.

Trying a Shave Report through Tapatalk since Netflix is using the big screen of my Command Center. Same setup I've used all week, as good or better results. One spot of blood on my chin, knocked off the scab from yesterday or the day before. DFS smooth, even on my lower neck. Got the angles figured out. Focus is working.

  13. I have Clubman VIBR and quite like it. It does have a bit of a cloves scent to start, but I am not sure how one avoids that when the bay rum leaf itself is related to the cloves family... Anyway, the scent dies down on your skin to a warm bay rum smell. (Btw, VIBR shouldn't be confused with Veg or Clubman -- same company but totally different products.)

I used Ogalalla Bay Rum samples a couple years ago and quite liked them. I may get more when my VIBR runs out.

I also have Jeeves of Hudson Street Bay Rum in soap and splash and really like it. JoHS mixes the scent of oranges in with the bay rum to make quite a sweet scent with no hint of cloves left. And the splash has lots of good skinfood in it. My other bay rum is TSD soap and milk aftershave from when the TSD Shop was still in business. That one is a very straightforward bay rum.

Much the same setup as last night. And same result -- two pass DFS. In honour of @Terry, I finished with a good palmful of Clubman Virgin Islands Bay Rum splash so I could enjoy that good Islands aroma as I worked.

  20. That looks like a fantastic vintage razor you pulled out tonight. And the Jeff's Soap was a decent scent for a very worthy cause.
