    December 28th
    Razor: Blackland Vector
    Blade: Schick Proline(3)
    Brush: SOC Taj Mistura
    Pre-shave: Stirling Mentholated
    Soap: Ogallala Bay Rum
    Stirling Bay Rum witch hazel
    AS: Ogallala Bay Rum

    Good morning!

Another excellent three pass shave from the Vector! BBS with silent alum.

The Ogallala is a hard soap so I chose to use the SOC Mistura and spent a little extra time loading the brush. The result was a scuttle overflowing with lather. So much soap it took several dips of the brush to get the consistency I was looking for.
I'm not very good at picking out scents and even worse at describing them but this bay rum I smell the orange and lime along with the cinnamon and ginger. A truly worthy bay rum.

    Have a great Friday![IMG]

It's probably been mentioned, but consider decanting the juice into a glass bottle.

    Thank you Charlie.
    Maggard's Response:
"All of these actually look like this...It's actually very normal for some Italian style shaving soaps to have these little slightly crystallized nodules in the tub
It's true for all the following:
    Abbate Y La Mantia soaps
    most "RazoRock" soaps
    Tcheng Fung Sing soaps
    Myrsol
older "First Canadian" artisan soaps (made in Canada)
and it can occasionally happen to other soaps as well.
They do not impact performance -- they should disappear after adequate amount of time lathering."

    We'll see...

    Thank you Neal.
    Good stuff, and cheap.
    Thank you Gary.

So, the whole change of schedule is really cramping my TSD style. It's difficult to keep up with the posts---especially this thread. I apologize in advance, if I do not acknowledge all of the kind comments and responses to my posts, it's not intentional.

Boom! The cheap as dirt VDH boar brush does it again y'all!!!! Creamy thick lather that stayed! Thanks for the help!
Also, used the Featherweight because someone wanted some help with it, and I'm trying to give back!
Stick around for sonogram pictures soon! IMG_20181228_091010_113.jpg

Life is quiet around the @Terry house this Friday. :) :).
Seeing the Bay Rum Boys are out in force, I decided to do a Bay Rum Run. 20181228_084409.jpg
    Razor- 1920 Gillette
    Blade- Feather new
    Soap- Ogallala Bay Rum
    Brush- Omega Badger
    Finish- Ogallala Bay Rum AS
    Cologne- Ogallala Bay Rum

The 3x3 shave was close and pleasurable. I got 2 weepers in the exact same place as yesterday. Closer inspection (with my glasses on) reveals two blemishes that apeared during my 35 hour stint, they will go away, this is no big deal. The 3 pass head shave was smooth and uneventful. I'll wait till Sunday to start the strait razor oncer again.
Now for the real treet. ;)
The bathroom smells like Bay Rum, the wash cloth smells like bay rum, the towel smells like bay rum, the whole house smells like bay rum!
    I smell like bay rum!
    Oh my! :happy108:
This is the first time I have used this after shave, but it wont be the last.
The cologne wont wear off to soon, that I know.
IF you like the Ogallala Bay Rum?
    I'd give this a try.
    Thanks all!
    Enjoy

    Schick Proline
    Paladin El Dorado Somerset
    MDC Agrumes
    Fine L'Orange Noir
    Terre D'Hermes

Used the most aggressive (3 dot) plate on the Nano with a Schick Proline blade. It shaved close but not smoothly. Two passes with minimal cleanup. MDC Agrumes with a lemony fragrance up front, easy lathering with the Somerset knot, and thick exceptional lather. Nice finish with L'Oange Noir and Terre D'Hermes. The cobwebs are blown away. I am enlivened and exhilarated. Happy Friday friends!

Staying home to be here when the furnace is repaired. No heat since Christmas morning.
The odes afford me the opportunity to get an am shave in and report the results.
There seems to be a Bay Rum trend. I have always been a Bay Rum fan and have owned and
ridded my den of quite a few products.
    What did remain was Mike's.
I have gushed about this soap in the past, so it should come as no surprise that I feel the same about his Bay Rum.
The Rubberset 400/3 was loaded for bear and I bowl-lathered an incredible amount of rich, creamy suds.
    IMG_9045.jpeg

The soap takes on copious amounts of water without breaking down.
Slickness abounds and with my 1947 Super-Speed, loaded with a new Polsilver SI,
I had three passes without the slightest hint of tugging---even on my lower neck.

Mike's soaps provide unparalleled post-shave feel, rivaled only by Mystic Water.
Unfortunately, Mystic Water Bay Rum was one of the soaps cut from my den. Scent was meh.

I wonder if others have this experience:
Prior to my final cold-water rinse, I have a super-smooth skin feel.

After the cold water, I can feel minimal stubble. This feeling then subsides about 30 minutes later.
Skin tightening and loosening, I assume.
Grand Bay Bay Rum is manufactured by Dominica.
Almost the same, but weaker. First ingredient is water and the first ingredient in the Dominica is alcohol.
It's a good ersatz, but won't replace the King of the Bay Rum hill.

At your convenience Joseph. Although TSD and the 30DC are mostly North American, plenty of members are either early risers or night owls. Live your life & share with us as you choose.

Are you a morning shaver? Consider switching to afternoon or evening. I find a couple hours before bedtime works best for me. My 5 O'clock shadow happens at 5 AM.
