    SATURDAY'S SHAVE

    [IMG] *signed by Erwin Creed

    Fragrance - Creed Royal Mayfair
Aftershave - Catie's Bubbles "Royal Garden" Tonic
Shave Soap - Catie's Bubbles "Royal Garden" Luxury Shave Soap Formula
    Deodorant - Punkee Herbals "Rose"
    Pre-shave Oil - Lather & Wood "unscented"
Post-Shave Balm - Nicci Marie Hyaluronic Acid Anti-Aging Face Serum
Razor - Antique Gillette ABC "Empire" Razor circa 1908-1912 (fully restored/re-plated in rhodium by Razor Emporium)
Blade - Gillette 7 O'clock Super Stainless *Fresh Blade
Razor Stand - ThinkGeek Executive Knight Pen Holder
Brush - London Cutlers Modified/Restored Antique Silver Synthetic-Boar Shave Brush circa 1890
Brush Stand - Jac Zagoory's Butterfly Pen Stand
Soap Mug - Antique Northwood Dandelion Amethyst Carnival Glass Mug circa 1912

***EDIT - Shave went perfect. 2-passes + light, targeted cleanup. I went for minimal strokes on the skin, careful touch ups. I got a BBS shave and only nicked a small pimple. This was the best shave I got from this ancient razor. I think I may be finally finding the correct angle and approach to get a good shave from this. During the shave it still is a bit 'rough' and I have to be much more careful than with my other razors. This is the most aggressive razor I have, IMO. It has epic'ly tore up my face multiple times. It all comes down to my skills on that day, or lack thereof. Could the Gillette 7 O'Clock Super Stainless be 'the' blade that makes this razor shave best? We'll find out in subsequent shaves.

Love me some Grizzly Bay, hope to one day have at least one of each coin variant at some point, the enamel and copper continue to elude me.

    Decadent December!!

    December 28, 2018

    Razor - 1947 Gillette Aristocrat
    Blade - [IMG] (2)
    Soap - Stirling Bay Rum
Brush - Stirling Pro Style Synthetic
    Post - Alum

Seems like today was a Bay Rum day so who am I to argue? I pulled out the Stirling Bay Rum as well as the TSD Bay Rum AS and continued the trend! The Aristocrat and Voskhod provided three passes of smooth comfort and a BBS finish on top of that super slick and spicy smelling lather. The TSD AS was the perfect topping. Just a light spritz to add some lasting aroma for the evening. I'll probably use it again on the way out the door to work tomorrow morning. Nice end to a somewhat busy but still fairly relaxing second day off. I'm happy to say that I was finally able to settle the last item on my Mom's estate today. Fairly easy going, actually, as it only took about 2 months to get everything handled. I'll start the New Year with no left over hassles from this year. That's a good feeling. Have a great weekend everyone!

    SHAVE OF THE DAY
    20181228_191327.jpg

    Prep: Pre Shave Soap Mix
    Razor: Wilkinson Sticky
    Blade: GSB
    Brush: Razorock BC Plissoft
    Soap: SMG Passion
    Post: B&M Figgy Puddin A/S

Managed to get a DFS this afternoon. Did experience a little burning redness from the Figgy Puddin, love this scent but it doesn't love me.

SMG Passion is a passionfruit type of scent. Reminds me a bit of WTF Taboo (even though its Cherry Blossom) as they both have a similar fruity accord. Scent strength is quite strong and smells quite unique. SMG is a soap that doesnt get much attention, so perhaps i can shed some light on this artisan.

Performance of this soap is decent. Lathers quickly and provided plenty of slickness. Holds water but does not like to be flooded, which is not necessary with this soap. No issues whatsoever with the shave itself aside from the A/S which i already knew was going to burn. This GSB blade has been in this Sticky razor since i got it and has stayed sharp and smooth, even getting a bit better with age if you could believe that. Hope everyone had a swell shave!

Thanks. I need to wear that scent a few more times before the winter is over.

No problem brother! You may want to consider samples from Stirling. They last a long while and are a great value, plus it gives you a chance to try a few scents and find what works best for you.

You sir have excellent taste in music! It can make a shave that much more enjoyable and help create a "Zen" type atmosphere.

@Edison Carter thanks for the info mate! I completely forgot about Dunshire as i'm not usually a big fan of aquatic scents. Mountain Man is another decent aquatic type scent based off Creed Silver Mountain Water, a decent scent that is practically identical to WSP Matterhorn.
