Sherri (DW) has, so far been spared from the flu; this may be, in part, due to the fact that she got her flu shot only a few weeks ago when she had pneumonia. Faith (DD) is still being hit hard by the Influenza-A and stomach flu which also seem to be exacerbating her AMPS. I'm doing better, but still feel somewhat crappy at times.

I needed to do a Target run, however, to get some supplies and so I took my first shower and shave since Monday. I was feeling the need for the big guns, however, so I pulled out a Schick B1 repeater with a Proline B blade along with the Stirling Sheep and Plissoft brush. Despite the four days growth and some initial concerns that I might need to change blades, everything came out very nicely.

FYI, at Target, I noticed several boxes of a Cremo gift set on one of the many Clearance shelves. It appeared to contain a tin of a special version of their lathering cream (looked like more than just sandalwood) and one of their horse hair brushes. Unfortunately, I didn't catch the price. This was not over by the shaving aisle, but on a shelf with various other "Men's Gifts", in case some of you want to check it out.

Razor - 1947 Gillette Aristocrat
Blade - (2)
Soap - Stirling Bay Rum
Brush - Stirling Pro Style Synthetic
Post - Alum

Seems like today was a Bay Rum day so who am I to argue? I pulled out the Stirling Bay Rum as well as the TSD Bay Rum AS and continued the trend! The Aristocrat and Voskhod provided three passes of smooth comfort and a BBS finish on top of that super slick and spicy smelling lather. The TSD AS was the perfect topping. Just a light spritz to add some lasting aroma for the evening. I'll probably use it again on the way out the door to work tomorrow morning. Nice end to a somewhat busy but still fairly relaxing second day off. I'm happy to say that I was finally able to settle the last item on my Mom's estate today. Fairly easy going, actually, as it only took about 2 months to get everything handled. I'll start the New Year with no left over hassles from this year. That's a good feeling.

Speaking of the New Year - one programming note. The January 2019 thread will not open until very close to midnight on Monday evening. I think we should keep things here and wrap up the year before starting into the new one. For some of you around the world I know you may start your year before we open the thread, but I appreciate your patience in allowing the day to roll around the globe as a group. Obviously midnight here will be a bit before the western half of the country but it's close. Have a great Saturday everyone!

We figured out we gab more than old ladies at a gossip convention, most of us are nuts, a few tried to go sane but we talked them out of it, a couple guys thought they found their mind but it was just a crule rumor. Bay rum is #1 on the hit parade, my daughter decide next time she flies, she will do it on a plane.

After very early morning shave at O Dark Thirty followed by a 12 hour day at the office, I am at last getting a chance to post today's shave. Knowing in advance today was going to be a rough one, I stayed with a tried and true setup. The DK7 was a joy to use face lathering the SV Felce. The OneBlade is stupid easy to use and really nailed it this morning. Two passes and touch ups ended in a BBS shave. I hope everyone had a great Friday.

My first shave since last Thursday, so I figured a straight was in order. Perhaps a little tugging with this blade, but it has been so long since I have used a straight, I am a bit out of practice. I still got a DFS on two passes.

It has been a great vacation with my family, but pretty busy. The honey do list had been building up, and the kids always have something going on. I am hopelessly behind on the thread, so if anyone wants to give me a summary of the past week, it would be much appreciated. I hope everyone has been doing well.

Thank you Perry. That sounds great, the handful of soaps I have are ones that I’ve been able smell before buying other than two which were highly reviewed by others here. A lot of the sites have pretty vague descriptions of the scents. I’ll pm you.

Picked up a Schick type L. Just got through cleaning it up. It was the Championship razor but the striping was all messed up. I scrapped the striping off and sanded the area where the striping was lightly. I then soaked the handle in Clorox to remove some staining and polished the head up. The little Schick cleaned up great for a cheap little razor. I like the razor better without the striping.

My razor(s). Seriously - I'm bringing the finest of the fine.

My soaps/cremes. Seriously - Gonna be so luxurious I may be unable to talk.

My aftershaves/balms. Seriously - Almost too good to even use without being arrested.

My cookies. Seriously - I'm drooling just thinking about those cookies.

My donuts. Seriously - You think I drool over cookies? Check this out!

My ice cream. Seriously - when you have ice cream who needs cookies and donuts?

Just looking at my beautiful self in the mirror. Seriously - who could ask for anything more?
